What can actually stain an lcd screen?

My Laptop has about 4 or 5 finger shaped spots on the lcd that are slightly darker than the area surrounding it. It must have come from my fingers to the keyboard to the screen but nothing I have tried will remove the stains. I havent tried any of the screen cleaners but I have tried different mixtures of IPA and water which have had no effect on the stains. Its not a problem when darker colors are in the area but lighter colors and whites are definitely noticeable, its more annoying than a serious problem. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to here it.

I have a stain on my LCD also but I took mine to a LAN party and spilt JIM BEAM on the screen so I figured it would stain. If there is any idea if any to get rid of it that would be great. But I just figured I was drunk and I deserved to jack up my laptop.
