What Cable is this?

Uh...they're neither, I think. Multi channel audio or something obscure. I think component video uses different colors.

I would also say they are something like 4 channel audio. Component is typically colored red, green, blue.

Yeah, component cables are usually red, blue, and green. I dunno what those are, especially since there's four.

Yeah they are weird... and I saw that component requires a blue one.
I bought this a long time ago at radio shack.

You can use any RCA cables as composite or component.

The red and black appear to be paired in that pic (r - l audio)
and the green and yellow appear to be paired, yellow typically being video. not sure about the green.

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying that component are usually color coded red, green, blue. I realize it has nothing to do with the physical makeup of the cable.

So you think I could use those cables as a test only with a component device?

I believe those might be for use in setups that seperated luminance and chrominance. Which S-video does.

And as far as video goes, video really likes having 75 ohm cable.

You young wippersnappers don't know? That is audio cable for a component cassette tape deck! Left-right "IN" and left-right "OUT".

Of course there are many other uses for it also! 😉

Component is only 3 cables with an RCA interconnect.

If Composite and Component cable can be use either way. Why do stores sell Component cables at a higher price?
