I'm a college student that recently moved out of the dorms into off-campus housing. The electrical systems in my house are old and pretty unreliable...I've lost power six or seven times so far this summer. I have roughly 1.5 terabytes of files (you know, legal mp3s, linux distros, free videos, etc.) and I have been recently having nightmares about losing them all. So, I am thinking about buying a UPS backup, but I know next to nothing about them. If you have any ideas about what are some good brands/models to look at, lemme know.

APC is the best and they are not very expensive .... see their website for specs
Staples usually has most models of them and are reasonably priced.
I use get a unit with more Wattage / AmpHrs rating than my system is currently at.
That way you have more time to Safely Shut Down the computer if power goes out.

The more capacity, the better.
