Im sick of these crap ratchet all in one sets, with the 20 different screwdriver heads that fall apart and rust...

What brand tools do you recommend? Time to upgrade...

Don't need top of the line, just looking for some quality.

If you are talking hand tools, go with Craftsman. Reasonable quality. Lifetime guarantee. Just stay away from the gimmick tools and buy standard ones.

Most of my hand tools are Snap On. Have had too much trouble with the cheaper brands in the past and it ended up costing more in the long run.

I've heard craftsman's quality has gone down in the last few years... Used to made in the US, no longer lifetime warranty.... Am i mistaken?

My Craftsman hand tools are still US made and carry the lifetime warranty - plus they always seem to be on sale every week at Sears. Craftsman powertools are a different story.

Ended up picking up a Craftsmen 18 piece set, normally $25, on sale for $18 and a few other things... Thanks!!

Depends on what line you buy. They have "companion", which is made in China crap. Craftsman is still made in USA. Go get 100 piece mechanic's tool set. More than the average person ever needs.

Craftsman FTMFW. The Sears people know me by name because I keep bringing them busted-ass tools.

And who cares if quality is down - break it, get a new one.

I got one of those screw drivers where you pull it out and on the other side is the other kind of a screw driver (the x shaped one).

Beat that.

But seriously, what does anyone need anything more than a screw driver for?
