what brand of computer

so my nephew wants a new computer, what brand and what specs would be good to get him through high school? He plays fortnite im sure one day that might change..he said buypower computer? but is that good compared to omen or dell g5??

To me all pre-builds are the same, just read up how to add memory & add or change the video card.
Make sure there are slots to add memory or it has 16GB+ memory and it has a pcie slot available for a video card.

To a degree, yes.

One of the bad things companies like Dell and HP used to do back until 2005 or so, was use proprietary parts (like power supplies, motherboards, etc). Thankfully, after a lot of complaints and articles, companies like Dell and HP starting using standard ATX parts. So if a person's power supply died, they could buy a replacement at places like Newegg and Best Buy.

However.................Dell (and companies like Lenovo) have sadly gone back to using some proprietary parts again with the G5 desktop.

Boutique builders, like iBuyPower and CyberPowerPC, use off-the-shelf components, so they are all standard parts people can buy anywhere if needed.

FWIW, I bought an IBuyPower pre-built about 6 months ago. I built my own for more than 20 years, and just didn't want the headaches this time. So far, the only real complaint I have is the AIO liquid cooler. It's a bit loud and doesn't work as well as a decent LARGE air cooler.
