What brand/model of GeForce 4 Ti 4200 should I get?

I want to upgrade my GeForce 3. Looking to get a GeForce 4 Ti 4200. I'm possibly looking into Gainward since I am real happy with my current GeForce 3 Golden Sample. But Newegg has so many different Gainward cards I get lost... Besides that, what brands/models of Ti 4200 should I also look into? Leadtek, Asus, Prolink, MSI, etc? Thanks for the help.

from the reviews it all seems to be similar if not same..

but if you want to overclock, abit seems to have good results.

my TNY geforce 4 o/cs not much (295/570) :) but acceptable. (but if u think about the deal :D mine cant be beat! $79 for 128mb 8x agp :D)

I have to agree with Schadenfroh on the Asus cards: I just got the Asus V9280 TD 8X AGP about a week ago, and it is a great card with a great software bundle. Also, the Reader's Choice Awards 2002 at Tom's Hardware selected an Asus GeForce4 Ti4200 series as the best mainstream graphics card, and Asus as the best graphics card maker (link below).

I'll give props to the Abit Siluro. It's fast, cheap, and overclocks well. They throw in the A/V cables, too.

One thing, though. The GeForce 4 Ti4200 is only marginally faster than an original GeForce 3. You might want to skip past the GeForce 4, and go right for the 5600 or an ATI Radeon 9600.

Had one of these cards, excellent card for the price. Any GF4 is considerably faster than a GF3. My GF4 basically allowed me to run 1 resolution higher with max details, where I might have to turn stuff off with my GF3.

I ended up getting an asus version that basically has the same bga memory and ti4600 board

just get a GF4 with 128mb if you can
and if yur overclocking shoot for the bga memory like in the albatron card

One of the Asus cards has these specs: Memory: 128MB DDR 550MHz 3.3 ns DDR BGA memory
8-Layer PCB

Is this good? I'm taking the lower the ns timing rating the better?

I have a Leadtek Ti4400 and it is a great card. So far I have had it to 305/625 with no problems. My GF3 Ti200 was a great Leadtek card as well.

They have some great features.

yes that is good
i think that's prob the card i got from newegg
v9280S
that is $219 at newegg which is much too high when compared to the equally featured albatron card

Albatron Ti4680 turbo
for $169

basically when you buy one of these cards yur getting a Ti4600 board (8 layer pcb) and memory (3.3ns bga stuff) but with a Ti4200 chip that you are able to overclock if you want

that albatron one is prob yer best bet dunno why it has dropped from like 220 over the past few months and the asus one hasn't

also as a side note when I got my v9280S it was DOA and i had to send it back for a working one
