My wife picked up Tuesdays With Morrie from the bargain bin. I'm 2/3rd's done with it. It's short and it's a feel good novel.

Next up: I plan to check out Robin Cook's latest hardcover thriller.

Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson, it's a good blend of pseudo history and fiction - it's set in WWII and in the early 90's (a couple story threads going, they all tie in).

Nonfiction: "The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors" by Hornfischer, or something like that. Excellent book about the Battle off Samar, a pretty good story.

If you like nonfiction, I recommend Jared Diamond's Guns Germs and Steel. I know its become very trendy in recent years, but its a solid read and it should keep you busy for awhile. I picked up a copy around 2000 I think, read it a couple times now.

See, very trendy. Its actually a fairly large academic peice, so I am really not going to be able to do it justice here. The basic idea is that the current dominance of western culture is not brought on by some genetic advantage possed by europeans, but rahter that they had the proper environmental influences and advantages to allow for their increased dominance.

Books like that scare me. If enough people believe it and the government keeps bending over backward, I may have to pay increased taxes just because I'm white.

Oh, I'm not arguing what the author was trying to focus on.

My general bitch is people complaining they didnt have all the advantages of whites and are entitled to everything we have.

Then I realized I wasnt in P&N and now I'll shut my mouth.

pretty much anything by Robert E. Howard (creator of Conan)

I'm just about to start reading the Mars series by Edgar Rice Burroughs (the creator of Tarzan)

Can't forget Terry Pratchett's Discworld books either. Its fantasy but the author parodies real life stuff and its hilarious.

Grass for his pillow Book two of three in the "Tales of the Otori"

Second time reading it and still love it, one of the must underrated series of books IMO.
