1. I have two boards an abit Kt7a that only uses amd t-birds and 133 sdram,

2. and a amptron 810lm with the sis set on it it uses amd xp cpu and 133 sdram

i know the amptron looks better on paper but with a t-bird in each at the same clock speed (the amptron is not overclockable at all) the abit is faster. is a amd xp cpu that much faster than a t-birdat the same clock speed?

Very much so. Different structure. On the mobo, keep the Abit.

The amptron is the PC Chips m810lmr, an integrated board based on the SIS 730 chipset. Its not a bad board but some revisions don't accept the XP cpus. I just finished making a system with the PC Chips one. It works just fine for an integrated board.

A board based on the SIS 735 or 745 chipset would be better IMHO.

I'd choose ABIT if it really give you the pleasure of overclocking.
you can't see the difference between Tbird and XP.

or

sell your amptron, abit, and tbird at ebay
and get a nice KR7A133. it rocks, you will have so much
pleasure OC'ed the Athlon XP you got.

If you want more advance solutions get IWIL XP333.
It overclock better than the KR7A133, cheaper and has
a nice onboard 5.1 soundcard.
