Hello all,

We are replacing our data acquisition system where I work. We are looking for a 1.2 GHz Athlon or 1 GHz P3... the problem is, our data acquisition cards are ISA - 3 of them. I've been looking for a motherboard that will accomodate these cards plus a 1 GHz+ CPU - Athlon preferred but Intel would do - but I've had no success. Can anyone suggest such a motherboard?? Let me make our requirements perfectly clear:

- Athlon or P3 1+ GHz
- minimum of 3 ISA slots

I hope I can find a suitable motherboard, replacing those cards will run us about $2K!! Note: a slightly slower CPU would be acceptable if that is the only way to get 3 ISA cards on the board.

Thanks,

Sorry to say, this gave me a nice chuckle....
What you are looking for doesn't exist (at least to my knowledge).

Do all 3 ISA cards HAVE to be in the same system.
If not then you could do your above config and make 3 different systems.(however, that might be more than the $2K for replacing the cards)

Your next best bet, would be to use these in a Pentium (socket 7) 233Mhz system. (but you want the performance don't you?)

If you can't already tell, ISA is being phased out, heck, try and find a motherboard with 2 ISA slots....it's nearly impossible.

There might be some other mobo's that can have celerons in them, but I don't know if they will have the 3 Slots you are looking for. (I'm not an INTEL expert, but I can recall at the most 2 ISA slots on some PentiumII boards, I think....)

I'm sorry that this isn't good news for your problem.

Well.....they're still selling the ASUS P299.
This is a ZX Intel chipset ATX board that has 3 ISA slots.
You'd need the latest BIOS update and probably a Slotket2
adapter..........Greg

The ASUS P2B (BX chipset) and P299 (ZX chipset) are possibilities. They both have 3 ISA and 4 PCI, and can be made to run with Coppermine processors using a Slotket. They are ATX boards. The P2B-B and P299-B are the AT versions if you need them.

Thanks for the help guys, I was not aware of the slotket adapter for older BX boards. Sounds like thats the way to go!
