I heard certain Vebratin are good how can I tell if these ones are good? I bought 2X 100 Pack of Mexall made in Tiwain and I'm haveing alot of skipping with them so I'm going to take them back today, but I didn't see any of the other kinds that I know are good at Futureshop.

Thanks.

I took back the 100 PKG of Maxell's going to wait a week or 2 and go to Toronto store and buy some good ones.

Not getting coasters is one thing... having the media remain perfectly readable after a few months/years is something else.

I tried 50 of them a bunch skipped in stand alone DVD players, must not like my burner or something.

sony seems to be working good.

i bought hp i'll try them.

taiyo yuden is good too.

i tried 100pk for $20 one on ebay, so bad.

can't read after 2weeks. 🙁 fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu**

LG, SKC are also good brand.

Which brand of media is good depends on which brand of drive one uses. For my NEC burner I try to use only Taiyo Yuden and Ritek media. Anyway, by now anyone knows Taiyo Yuden is one of the best.

I always use Verbatim for both CD's and DVD's.
Never had a coaster or a disk becoming unreadable with time.

TDK and Verbatim are both good.

BtW: If you have disks that skip in DVD players, try burning at a slower speed(2x/4x). Don't ask me why, but it seems to work with CD's anyway.

It really depends on the media code and your burner. Taiyo Yudens are the best, but MCC, CMC, Prodisc and older Riteks are pretty good too. I've read bad things about the newer Riteks(anything a year old or newer). CD Freaks is a great resource, as is Video Help

I'm pretty happy with TDK DVD+R's. I don't remember who makes them, but they have 25 packs on sale at CC every few weeks.
