I got mine in march and its still running 1001 i believe. I tryed before changing the bios to 1005 and nothing would post so I had to revert back to the original. Any suggestions would be of help. Also I would like to know the easiest way to update the bios. I see there is a few different ways thanks again.

I think the Asus EZ Flash is the easiest method. The EZ Flash utility is already built into the bios chip. So just go to the Asus website and download the latest Bios file and save it to a floppy disk. Restart the system and Press Alt + F2 during post. When instructed, insert the floppy with the new Bios file and press enter. When the Flash utility screen appears, type in the bios file name. Once the Bios is found, EZ Flash performs the update and will automatically reboot when finished.

I have a couple of builds with this board, both are using 1008. That is the latest release BIOS. Neither person is having an issue. You must use nVidia nForce 6.66 or higher with that BIOS.

The ALT-F2 method is best for flashing. Once you flash and it reboots, go into the BIOS and load Setup or Optimized Defaults and then SAVE and EXIT. Reboot. Go back into BIOS again and configure as you desire.

Edited to say: on second thought--you might want to go the 1010.003 route (BETA) as ASUS may have incorporated the workaround for the Creative X-Fi issue into that release. No way of telling at this point until they release it. If you have no intention of using the X-Fi, then 1008 should be fine.
