Hi Guys. Because there is absolutely nothing else to do on a Saturday night (ughhh), here we go....

In the next week I will be replacing my P4 2.4c HT Based system (with 2 GB basic Corsair memory/PATA IDE Hard drives/ABIT IC7 875 based mob/XP Pro). I will be buying a i7-920 CPU/X58 mbo/6GB RAM/Intel x-25M 80 G2 SSD Hard drive/Win 7 64-Bit/etc.

What kind of current benchmarks can I run on this system now to get an idea of how my current POS stacks up against my future POS.

The most important test, if it exist, is a canned Photoshop type benchmark I can run on my rig in Photoshop CS3 and then run on the new system. Anyone have an idea if such a test exists?

Secondary in importance are hard drive benchmark utilities I can run. But also graphics, memory tests, etc.

Just for kicks. assume utilizing all cores:

3.73GHz Pentium EE is prolly 3x faster than a P4 2.4C.

1.86GHz C2D is just as fast as a 3.73GHz P-EE. (Amazing huh?)

2.66GHz C2D is 1.4x faster than 1.86GHz C2D.

2.66GHz C2Q is 1.6x faster than same 65nm C2D

2.66GHz 45nm C2Q is 1.1x faster than the same 65nm part

2.66GHz i7-920 is 1.3x faster than same 45nm C2Q

So, in total your new i7-920 is 9.6 times faster than your old 2.4C!
