My new rig is arriving today. I want to benchmark it, along with 2 old machines. I've already found the Futuremark site, along with Aquamark. Are any others recommended? How about for burn in? I also want to test the hard drives. What is recommended for testing access speed and transfer rate? Thanks for any help!

Try and find HD Tach. Its good for comparisions on HD access time.

You can also get SiSoft Sandra for Burn-in as well as a host of other system information tools.

If you are looking for stability testing, try Prime95.

Burn in is a myth. The first 'benchmarking' I would do is to run Memtest86 and then Prime95 to test for stability. 'New' doesn't mean jack &#$* when it comes to the health of your computer parts :D

ATTO makes a disk benchmark program. Sandra is always popular. Sysmark (i think that's what it's called).
