thread title pretty much sums it up. Got the idea from the current 'band vs band' threads.
And this is pretty much geared to anyone from 18-30s, as typically that was the age of listeners of what is currently deemed classic rock, of which for this discussion is merely any famous rock that people still make an effort to listen to that is from the 60s and 70s, maybe early 80s.
What bands of this time period (90s-00s) will our kids and grandkids either actively HATE us listening to in our cars as we drive them around town, or actually start to enjoy and then go and download them and start listening to our music? Think they will even listen to the classic rock that we listen to now, so at that point it is music that is 60 years old? Or do you think the music stylings will be far too different and music from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles and AC/DC, so much so that they will cringe as if it were something we relate to as being out of the 30s or something?
I'd say, the bands that may just get their dues from our children and grandchildren 30 years out are:
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Foo Fighters
Queens of the Stone Age
Coheed and Cambria
Audioslave
Jimmy Eat World
Incubus?
Korn
Modest Mouse
Nine Inch Nails
Smashing Pumpkins
System of a Down
Tool
those are my guesses. Anyone else got some ideas?
edit: oops, stupid title typo
