What bait do u use?

I want to take up on fishing this summer and are not targeting any species in particular, but those tiger muskies sure do look fun to catch.

So I want to just sit back and toss the bait in the water, and then just watch the bobber. What kind of bait is good, i don't care what fish it is, catfish, carp, bluegills, trout, bass don't like live bait do they?.. etc..

of course i am talking about live bait/prepared bait, powerbait(please specify kind), some green colored worms, nightcrawlers, etc...

post a pic of your of your catch if u have one. Thanks!

Bait fishing is boring IMO, I always use lures, or float salmon eggs (for Trout).
I used to do a lot of bass fishing in the mid west, and used lures as well.

I don't know - I only saltwater fish 🙂 I usually use squid, sand fleas, chunks of other fish (if I'm fishing for small sharks), and shrimp. But, I won't use bobbers, I just throw my line out from the shore, reel it back in, then repeat 🙂

I also like cast net fishing - it's a good way to catch mullet 🙂

ALL fish like live bait.

the reason you don't catch bass as much on hook and worms is that there's so dang many sunfish around, they always get to em first!

usually bass are harder to catch, you have to go casting crank baits or spinner baits, or go flipping plastics near shorlines.

You don't need to mess with the expensive green worms, regular ones have worked for thousands of years, and still work!

Then I would go with a nightcrawler and a bobber.

"Hide" the hook in the worm. (Run the hook right through it's center lenght wise)

and btw what size hooks? I bought some size 2's which are too small for the worms... Do u guys cut the worms in half? or buy a huge hook? or just let part of the worm dangle off the hook?

It will attract fish better if some of it's wiggling, so yes let a bit of it hang from the hook.

Expect to get some nibbles without landing any fish though, they WILL nibble off the hangy down parts.

Bate fishing isnt boring! Don't tell me fishing with bait and a bobber isnt an instense way to fish.

musky hunter

musky are one of the hardest fish to catch, tiger muskies are easier, since there dumb and aggresive.

I don't use live bait for muskie, I cast as it is more fun, plus you feel the strike/hit

i saw some "urban fisherman" today

there is a creek in the middle of town, near my workplace

i got off the freeway and as i was crossing the bridge (across the creek), two guys pushing a shopping cart full of fishing polls were crossing the bridge on the sidewalk -> "urban fisherman"

i like to use nightcrawlers and minnows. The nightcrawlers generally work better for sunfish/cats and the minnows are better for bass/croppie. IMHO

I love fishing for perch, best eating fish IMHO.

Use nightcrawlers, if they're too long, rip 'em in half before putting on the hook (doubles your supply 🙂). Saves you from having to head back in for more bait when the bastards nibble 2 dozen worms away from you .
