What Athlon processor do you recommend?

After havin probs with a 1700+ that I bought, I am givin up on it, hoping for a refund and I want to go with a 2500+ or so.

What do you recommend? The 333fsb one or the t bred.

I am looking at most likely getting the Epox 8rda+ or the Asus A7N8X-X board.

I do a lot of photoshop, flash, and premiere work. I also do some gaming as well. What would be my best bet? I will also be using pc2700 memory. I doubt I would overclock very much, but I am open to suggestions.

I dont know if I should get the 2500+ barton, or the 2400+ tbred. One is faster than the other, but the barton has more cache.

Should I just say screw it and get the 2600+ barton?

Barton 2500+ and an NF7-S 2.0. You'll need PC3200 though most probably for 3200XP speeds. The Gigabyte nForce2 board looks good and so does the DFI Lanparty nForce2 board. Skip the Epox boards - the one you mentioned is Nforce2 non-Ultra nd the nForce2 Ultra that they made has some cheap components skipping Nvidia's MCP-T chip.

Problem is I have only $200 for the mobo processor combo....

I have pc 2700 memory already bought

You'll be fine with PC2700. You won't get high bus speeds, but that won't stop you from upping the multiplier on that barton! Get the NF7-S and a 2500+.

Yep, all nForce 2 boards unlock the multiplier.. Go for the 2500+ you will get to @ least 3000+ speeds...

Really? You don't need to cut bridges or do "wire tricks"?

I'm breaking in a new rig (see sig) and I've got it running at ~182 MHz FSB on the standard 11X multiplier, but are you saying I can hit 2GHz (and beyond) by switching to 200x10, thus increasing memory bus speed?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Nevermind. I figured it out for myself. Currently running @ 2205 MHz and also set multi to 10X earlier.
