Old man winter (that bastard) has inspired me, this year, to seek out a new location to live. So I went to the site below and took the quiz (free). Below are the answer it came up with. There are a few (Locations in Alabama and Mississippi) that you couldn't pay me to live in. Otherwise, it looks like a good list.

Post yours: :thumbsup:

LOL

I actually went through the questions and answered them accurately on where I would like to move after college, maybe see if the place I am moving to is in the top list.

So I get the results, and the number #1 place on my list....

is where I live right now! :Q :confused:

And this place kind of sucks. I think it underestimates the winters here, being that I chose that I don't mind winters but didn't want long or harsh ones.

edit: I choose the medium sized communities and small ones. Seems I should've just did medium sized, as only have a few between 30-40k, most are under 10,000 which is too small.

Spent last weekend in Augusta.

D-U-M-P.

The golf course isn't in the best area at all. Across the street from a cheesy strip mall called The Masters something or other.

There is literally nothing else to do there besides dodge construction barrels

Well my results are interesting, don't really fit with my answers for the most part:

Boston, Massachusetts (WAY too much snow for me)
Hartford, Connecticut (See above)
Honolulu, Hawaii (Not enough snow)
Carlisle, Pennsylvania (Looks interesting)
Providence, Rhode Island (Hell no)
New Haven, Connecticut (No thanks)

Everything else is pretty much located in the region I'm currently living in (Eastern Mid-Atlantic), so no real surprise. Although it did throw in a few places in Hawaii, Oregon, and Arizona :confused:

Not a bad list really, though too many of them have housing prices bordering on extortion (to me). There's also WAY too many big cities in the list. 30k is my limit for population, and I'd prefer to live in a county of 10-20k within an hour drive of any city services I need. I also find it interesting that I have a bunch of Oregon, but no Washington or Alaska. Hmmmm.

Mine had a lot of suggestions in Washington. I'm actually very happy with where I live now in Santa Barbara. In fact most of my answers were aimed at SB, but it didn't even suggest one town near me, or even many on the coast.

Las Cruces, New Mexico
Phoenix, Arizona
Charlotte, North Carolina
Chesapeake-Virginia Beach, Virginia
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Augusta, Georgia

Orlando, Florida
Charleston, South Carolina
Henderson, Nevada
El Paso, Texas

Pretty typical for answering:
Snow = NO
City = Major

Italics = NO
Underline = Don't know
They failed to ask if I didn't like the southern drawl. That would cut out quite a bit.

I live about 18 miles from St. Helens.

It's backwater and redneckish, but it's so close to Portland that it's really not a big deal. Definitely woodsy, cheap, etc.

That sounds almost exactly like where I live now, only closer to an ocean and mountains and with a better climate.

I did this some time ago, and was amused to see that the #1 spot for me came up as Anchorage, Alaska. I already live there! Best place in the world for me, with OR without affirmation from that website.
