Lets not get too technical with platforms and what not.. If it is a video game, came out this year, and blew your skirt up, put it down.

Here is mine:

1. Bioshock
2. Mass Effect
3. Call of Duty 4
4. Halo 3
5. Rockband
6. Super Mario Galaxy
7. The Orange Box
8. Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction.
9. Crysis
10. Uncharted

Off the top of my head here is my list. I may make some changes later after I think about it some more 🙂

1. COD4
2. Bioshock
3. Uncharted
4. Super Mario Galaxy
5. the Orange Box (portal!)
6. halo 3
7. Assassins Creed
8. Mass Effect
9. Rock Band
10. Crysis

Well since Xmas hasn't came yet I haven't got most of the good ones. From what I've played:

Assassins Creed
Orange Box
Halo 3 multi
Crackdown
GH3
God of War 2

What I'm assuming will be up there once I get it:
Rock Band
Bioshock
CoD4
Mass Effect

Top 10? I cant do a list that big. I'll keep it to my top three and only to games that I've actually played.

1) Halo 3 (no, I have not played CoD4, H3 has the ability to go the distance with MP)
2) Super Mario Galaxy (best single player game of the year, hands down)
3) Crackdown (most fun getting achievements with friends, before H3, my most played game)

#$%% I forgot Crackdown was this year.. I might need to adjust mine..

Top 10 games? Damn, that'll have to include games I haven't played but look awesome. Also, I'm only including console games on my list, I don't keep up with handhelds or PC games anymore. Ranked, 1 to 10:

1. Bioshock - Amazing game through and through. I LOVE atmospheric games, and this one had it in spades. Didn't hurt that the story was genuine and original, the controls were spot on, and the gameplay was innovative.
2. Super Mario Galaxy - Haven't played this, but I've read enough on it to know that it's at least one of the top 3 games of the year.
3. Halo 3 - Sorry to all the Halo haters out there, but the single player story and graphics were great, and the multiplayer is the most customizable this side of a PC.
4. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - This one took me completely by surprise. Amazing graphics, great story, great voice work.
5. Call of Duty 4 - Amazing, if not a bit annoying single player campaign, and online is smooth as silk. The AC-130 gunship level is awesome, and All Ghillied Up was one of the better single player levels of any console shooters in the last few years.
6. Heavenly Sword - I don't give a shit what people said about this game, it was awesome, regardless of length. Awesome story, well told, arguably the best graphics in any game this year.
7. Super Stardust HD - I used to think Geometry Wars was the ultimate dual-stick shooter, but SSHD blew GW out of the water and hung it up to dry.
8. Rock Band - Great game, even though they have had so many problems with hardware. It's the ultimate party game, what can you say? Plus, the song selection is fantastic IMO.
9. God of War II - Haven't played it quite yet, waiting for it drop in price a bit more. You can't argue, though, when people say it is better than the first one, when the first one was amazing (besides those god damn spinning blades things in the hell level).
10. Crackdown (aka Orb Hunter) - It's unfortunate it didn't get a fair shake with it's sales numbers, since it was assumed it sold well because of the Halo 3 beta. I'd love to see a Crackdown 2, too bad they already said one wasn't coming.

Notable mentions are:

- Orange Box - Maybe if I hadn't already paid for Half-Life 2 and Episode 1, I'd think more highly of this game.
- Guitar Hero 3 - They are being bitches about the whole guitar cross-compatibility thing, so they've lost some lustre in my eyes.

1. Mass Effect - I'm in love with this game. I think I could play this game for the next 6 months exclusively, trying all the classes and paragon/renegade. The last 3 hours are the most epic(at least for me) in any game ever.
2. Rock Band - I love this shit. Just today Buddy Holly was released and my wife, her brother, and I jammed out for awhile. It is so much fun when you play with at least 3.
3. COD4 - Best MP fps this year. It is so much better than Halo that it is just ridiculous.
4. Bioshock - Best SP FPS of the year and best mood setting in any game I've ever played.
5. Orange Box - This is awesome. Supposedly a patch to improve TF2 is awaiting MS certifiication and valve has confirmed DLC maps soon. Worth it for Portal alone
6. Virtua Fighter 5 - Best 3d fighting game ever. Online lag is absolutely unnoticeable
7. Uncharted - My neighbor has this and I got to play it for awhile. This makes me one step closer to buying a PS3 but I need something else with more replayability and longer before I get one...gogogo little big planet, Grand Turismo
8. Crackdown - Super fun
9. Skate - So much better than Tony Hawk it is ridiculous. I can't see myself getting rifd of this until 2 comes out.
10. Halo 3 - I never played 1 or 2 and was pretty dissapointed at the SP. The mp is pretty fun but is just kind of slower than I'm used to.

I wish I could play SMG so I could rate it. I'm sure it would be top3 from the stuff I've seen but I'm not paying 300 dollars for the only game I'll ever want to play on the Wii.

Most of the games that have come out this year I still have yet to play, plus I don't have a PS3 or a Wii. I'll copy Modeps and give my favorite top three so far:

1. Mass Effect - this game is what everyone was claiming Bioshock would be, an experience where your choices actually impact the progression and outcome of the game. This is by far my favorite game this year. An incredible experience with extraordinary replayability for a single-player title. The ending credits song kicks ass, too!

2. Super Mario Galaxy - this is the most innovative game I've played all year. I've been fortunate enough to borrow my brother's Wii and have had it since Thanksgiving. It seems like each new galaxy introduces a new gameplay element, many of which are unique to that area. I have no idea how Nintendo will 1up this game, but I know they will.

3. Halo 3 - The amount of things to do here is overwhelming. Campaign, co-op, matchmaking, forge, theater mode... Although I haven't been playing as much (and probably won't for a while) I have yet to get sick of any of it (except for the Cortana/monster interruptions throughout the campaign--I hate that shit!).

Games I played this year:

Orange Box (PC)
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
Guitar Hero 3 (Wii)
Super Paper Mario (Wii)
Godfather: Blackhand Edition (Wii)
Worms: Open Warfare 2 (Wii)

Games I'll probably buy at somepoint:

Rock Band (360)
Halo 3 (360)
Bioshock (360)
Assassins Creed (360)
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)

Games that look good but I probably won't buy:

Uncharted (PS3)
Ratchet and Clank Future: ToD (PS3)
CoD 4 (PC)
Mass Effect (360)

My top 10:

Super Mario Galaxy
Bioshock
Orange Box
Halo 3
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Metroid Prime 3
Heavenly Sword
Mass Effect
Crysis
Assassin's Creed

Super Mario Galaxy is simply superb and one of the best of the Mario series, perhaps surpassing Mario 64. Although arguably not as innovative as it's older brother (NOT Sunshine), Super Mario Galaxy remains constantly fresh with it's creative and inspiring level designs.

Bioshock is subject of much argument. I place Bioshock on this list as one of the best console games this year, allowing console owners to experience the rich immersion and depth in first person shooters that PC players have for years. Similarities to System Shock aside, the game is damningly entertaining.

The Orange Box is a bundle of accomplishments. Team Fortress 2 is addictive. Portal is revolutionary in premise, style, and execution. Half Life 2: Episode 2 is a much more solid episode than the previous, putting Valve in a special place in my heart.

Halo 3, while keeping many of the same attributes, provides some new details, such as forge and the theatre system. Halo 3 leaves Bungie on a high note, partially recovering from the disappointing Halo 2.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is one of the best reinventions of the Zelda series. Much more exciting than the Gamecube or ported Wii Zelda, Twilight Princess, this game actually provides some innovations in gameplay. The controls are easy to grasp, making this Zelda an extremely successful step on Nintendo's new systems.

Metroid Prime 3 was the first Wii game to provide something I desperately yearned for: decent Wii controls. Coupled with stunning visuals and environments, the controls make this game unforgettable.

Some see Heavenly Sword as just another God of War, but the game provides a shining example of great storytelling and presentation.

Mass Effect is disappointing in some areas, but only because I have such high standards for every game BioWare produces. The game is undeniably solid.

Crysis is the latest graphical revolution, deserving a lower spot on my list.

Assassin's Creed manages to utilize wonderful and new concepts, providing a truly unique experience. Although the first game was riddled with flaws *cough REPETITION cough*, I have high hopes for it's sequels.

1. Halo 3 (xbox360)/Bioshock (xbox360)
3. Mario Galaxy (wii)
4. Rock Band (xbox 360)
5. Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3)
6. WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2008 (xbox360)
7. Batallion Wars (wii)
8. Worms Open Warfare 2 (DS)
9. Metroid Prime 3 (wii)
10. Call of Duty 4 (PS3)

1. Orange Box (PC): Definitely takes first place
2. Crysis (PC)
3. Guitar Hero 3 (Wii)

Still need to play:
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
Call of Duty 4 (PC)
Metroid Prime 3 (Wii): Still need to finish the first one for GameCube and start the second, haha

those last 2 arnt 2007 but i played them this year and they were better then most modern games

WoW: TBC
Halo 3
Bioshock
Crackdown
R&C: TOD
Hevenly Sword
GOW2
COD4

SOM 2 on the SNES emulator

Yeah, it came out in February so its easy to miss.

Hmmm don't know if I can think of 10. This is in no particular order either.

Halo 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Ratchet And Clank Tools of Destruction
Uncharted
Call of Duty 4
Forza 2
Crackdown
Super Paper Mario
Mortal Kombat 2 (on PSN)
Super Mario Kart (SNES)

Orange Box
Uncharted
Mario Galaxy
Crysis
Guitar Hero 3

Can't think of 10, so there's my 5.

In no particular order, except for my number 1, which is above and beyond all the other games:

1) Orange Box
Bioshock
Crackdown
Mass Effect
Rock Band
Guitar Hero 2
Guitar Hero 3
Call of Duty 4
Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
NY Times Crosswords (DS)

That is all. Yes, I own Halo 3. No, I did not forget it on the list. And no, I do not own a PS3.

My list in no order (for my preference):

Fifa 08
AOE3 Asian dynasties
Medieval 2 Kingdoms
Warriors Orochi
Assassins creed
Mass effect
COD4
Crackdown
WWE 2007 (in japan it came out 2007 =p)
Halo 3

+SMG probably if I had played it 🙂

1) Call of Duty 4 (360)
2) BioShock (360)
3) Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass (NDS)
4) Mass Effect (360)
5) Halo 3 (360)
6) G.R.A.W. 2 (MP is fun as HELL!) (360)
7) Worms 2 (NDS)
8) Team Fortress 2 (PC)
9) Crackdown (360)
10) The Darkness (360)

1. Crysis, not just for it's graphics but in general it's flawless execution of many gameplay ideas, I haven't been this amazed by a game in a while.

2. Halo 3, just because there are so many things to do

3. Call of Duty 4, I don't like the multiplayer but the campaign was intense and very well done.

4. Orange Box (Only really liked Portal and HL2: Ep2)

5. Oblivion because I'm still playing it on the computer with several mods

I haven't played the full versions of 10 games released this year, so my list will be rather odd-

1.Halo 3 *just because the co-op with my son&friend was so much fun*

2.Resistance:Fall of man

3.CrackDown

4.God of War

5.Destroy All Humans *The humor and political commentary, plus the 50's theme, really worked for me.*

6.Batman Begins

7.Hulk:Ultimate Destruction

8.Spiderman 2

9.Ultimate Spiderman

10.Call of Duty 2 *played it when it came out on PC, but enjoy it so much, it is top 10 for me, even on the 360 play through*

I still have a whole host of PS2 greats to collect and play, and it is time to look for deals on used 360 and PS3 titles I want. Still need to pick up a used copy of Crysis for PC too.

I'll make a top three, I don't think I played 10 amazing games( I still haven't played through Bioshock and CoD4 yet, so don't stone me):
1) Portal, and the whole Orange Box
2) C&C 3 for the PC
3) Crackdown - Surprisingly this game has stayed around for more than 3 weeks, due to those pesky orbs!!! :|
