I think it's awesome, but how come when something is about to eat something else they always turn the camera away.

It's a family show, they're not going to show the money shots. If you think about it, hardly any animal shows show the actual death of the animal. They always cut straight from the animal falling down to being half-eaten. I'd have to assume because the 10 seconds or so where the animal dies horribly screaming and wailing after getting its throat torn out is a little too rough for most viewers to want to see.

I like the fungus that burrows into the ants' brain and takes control. 3 Weeks later the ant has a fungus stalk sticking out of its head spewing forth spores. Awesome.

I wonder about that, and I wonder why they will show a poor polar bear try hard to kill and eat a walrus after swimming 65 miles, only to fail, stumble around bleeding, then lay down and die. That's probably the saddest thing I've seen on television. I know, I know, it's just nature.

The program on the whole is cool, though, great HD showcase.

I think they have been doing a fair job showing the reality of the wild and nature.

I can only imagine how much money and resources went into filming that series. Some of those scenes that had to film over a number of months.

one of the best shows on TV right now. The crew poured their heart and soul into it and u can see it on the screen. Will be my first HD-DVD purchase

I remember reading somewhere that each episode cost over 2 million to make.

Luckily on Discover HD is that it's over in about 45 minutes, rather than an hour on the regular channel. Then the other 15 minutes they show all the behind the scenes and filming stuff.

I'd be content to just see how it was made over a couple of extra shows.
