My wife has people write on the whiteboard what they are thankful for. This is what my son is thankful for.

Just the wife and I this year...considered going out...had a couple of invites...opted to stay home where the food is usually better...and we have leftovers.
Roast turkey
Home-made dressing (if it doesn't go in the bird, it's dressing, not stuffing)
Green bean casserole
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Home-made parkerhouse rolls
Jellied cranberries. Olives, and sweet gherkins.
Have apple and pumpkin pie waiting.

Was a successful one...

Grandma was feeling under the weather and sat this one out so we went from a dry Thanksgiving to a rather wet one ( Grandma has a drinking problem... She's 95 and I say let the old bird DRINK).

ANYHOW, politics was largely avoided, good times were had by all.

Ours was mostly successful…

Wife’s sister brought their 7 year old granddaughter who decided to choke out my three year old granddaughter during some rough housing…😡

Smoked bird turned out moist and flavorful. GD baby daddy brought two bottles from his job. 👍

Pecan and pumpkin pie for dessert.

I bought a small-ish generator and pass-through outlet 3 years ago. Best “keep the power turned on” insurance ever. Since I bought it, I’ve used it 3 times, longest was about 3 hours…before I bought it, we’d get 3-4 every year that lasted several hours.

I live next door to the family that owns the only Chinese restaurant in Ocean Shores. They close for Thanksgiving and Christmas…which is fine with me because their food is so bad.
I've heard the nearest good Chinese restaurant is in Tacoma.
