What are your graphic card settings? Peformance, AA, AF
Settings in the game? Spectactular, Particles, Textures , V-sync?

What are the best tweaks to get FPS?

The benchmarks I posted were at 100% default install settings. I had not even run the game yet when I benchmarked it. I wonder if there's a "standard" default we should be using. With any luck the next benchmarking tool(with the next patch?) will will take care of this for us.

I just ran the game and apparently the defaults are 800x600 which would explain why in my last benchmark the FPS is higher on the retail vs. the "FLT" release (FLT was @ 1024x768). My settings are:

Radeon 9800NP flashed and o/c'd to 400.5/350
1024x768x32 - No AA/AF
VSynch - 85Hz
Textures - High
Particles - High
Specular - Yes
Shadows - On
Decals - On

As others have pointed out this "timedemo" tool isn't a true benchmark of the game as it includes load times where there is no video being displayed. They are supposed to fix this in an upcoming patch.

I knew something was up with the FPS, nice overclock by the way. Do you have Triple buffering enabled or the other options under D3D compatibility?

OOPS! I just read the post in more detail. Can you point me to the instructions/readme file that explains how to bench and/or enable the FPS?

TIA (thanks in advance) and I'll post my results.

You start the game with "-timedemo" in the commandline. After it's done, you'll see a file called timedemo.txt in the game directory with the results.

Here's what I get with a relatively "slow" computer (Box#2 of my specs). Haven't had time to try it on my faster ones.

800x600x32 - No AA/AF
VSynch - 75Hz
Textures - High
Particles - High
Specular - Off
Shadows - Off
Decals - On
Audio - Software mode
