Here are mine with one PC connected via Cable using a Motorola SURFboard modem:

time=5ms
time=18ms
time=6ms
time=7ms
time=16ms
time=5ms
time=10ms
time=19ms
time=6ms
time=6ms
time=6ms
time=8ms
time=16ms
time=7ms
time=17ms
time=6ms
time=8ms
time=30ms
time=6ms
time=15ms
time=6ms
time=7ms
time=5ms
time=27ms
time=33ms
time=7ms
time=7ms
time=6ms
time=24ms
time=16ms
time=6ms
time=7ms
time=5ms
time=6ms

Do these unstable figures indicate any problem on my side?

TIA!

Acutally....try "tracert www.yahoo.com"

My first hop using tracert is a router @ comcast: 8ms

That is the problem with you use of ping...only tells you how it took to get to the final destination:D

As I understand, any attempt to tracert a URL/IP on the Internet will come up with the 1st HOP being the same everytime - it is the first stop (after leaving your PC) on the way to destination. You got 8ms on YOUR 1st HOP - this is only one ping result. The issue here is whether your ping is constantly around that figure, or it may vary (quite a lot in my case). There is no need to "turn in" the IP of the HOP itself, but rather post ping results (of like 25 packets) in here. that was what I was aiming for in the first place, since I get the feeling that my results may indicate a problem...:confused:

Pretty consistent for me.
