What are your opinions of guys who can't rebuild an engine?

I can't rebuild an engine as far as I know, but at least I can do pretty much anything myself to the car.. (within reason)

Probably space aliens who want to destroy Earth.

Hell, I rebuilt an engine in grade 10 or 11. It's not exactly challenging if you're fairly disciplined and have the proper tools.

I think they are pathetic moma's-boy losers.

I feel the same about guys who can't build a home from scratch😉

Well, everyone who doesn't have exactly the same skill set that you do is a pathetic loser, apparently.

anyone can read a book and follow step by step instructions.. .. so those who say "I cant" doesn't mean they couldn't buy a book and given time could figure it out.. ..

By your definition of "can", then anyone who can read a cookbook knows how to cook, right?

I remember back in the Mid 90's when the career that was though of as coolo was one in the Tech Industry and Mechanics and Construction Careers were looked down upon. Now in this decade it's becoming the opposite. You ever wonder why you don't see programs on the Discovery Channel showing a bunch of fat pasty whites hanging around a server?

They should be able too. However, just as with Auto Mechanics cooking becomes more or a shill when one gets more experience. Of course being proficient with working on cars is much cooler than just being a good cook.

But, but, your not fat, pasty maybe, but not fat. 😉

Engine rebuilds are for grease monkeys.

I feel the same way about guys who can't fill out a Form 5500 for a qualified pension plan.

I didnt state they "knew how" to rebuild an engine.. but if they dont know they could buy a book on a single project (rebuild a block) and follow the steps. Same goes for cooking had you asked "those who can't cook a 5 course meal are losers" they may not know at this exact moment but could also buy a book and follow directions to finish the project. And the quality would lie entirely on their reading comprehension and ability to follow step by step details.
