What are your oddest fears?

Mine - that my teeth will fall out - I had this freaky dream last night that they were. I even got up to make sure they were still there.......

I spent a week in Maui, on the beaches, in the ocean/pools and yet I refused to put my face completely underwater. I don't like the feeling with my nose submerged... AT ALL. I'm not really a swimmer but when I do do it for a few seconds at a time (I know the motion)... I swim with my head above water... tiring as hell though.

I get those dreams too.

I have an irrational fear of trains. Not riding on them, I ride the subway and LIRR all the time, but just being around cargo trains and train tracks, especially at night, really gives me the heebie-jeebies.

That I will roll over and suffocate my cat pinky or my dog brodie while sleeping. I'll wake up, and shake them awake in a panic to make sure they are still alive.

When I was ten, I was really concerned about getting dumped on by birds flying overhead. It got so bad I did not want to go outside. And when I did go outside I would run as fast I could to get in a car or some other place safe from birds.

It's always been funny to me, jokes about Grandma's taking out their dentures; much to Grandpa's suprise/pleasure...

It was a weak attempt at best to change the contextuall premise...

hehe, when i was in high school this girl told me that teeth falling out in dreams means you feel guilty about masturbating

of course, my response was "i don't have those dreams, so i guess i don't feel guilty about it!"

Easy....when I'm getting a drink of water out of a water fountain, I'm always freaked out that some moron is going to bump my head into the metal thing that shoots out the water and I'll get my teeth cracked. Such a stupid fear but I think about it every single time I get a drink from a water fountain.

When I was like 4 or 5 I insisted that I could hold on to my helium balloon that my parents bought me at Busch Gardens.
Not surprisingly, I lost it.

To this day I get the jibblies anytime I have to hold a helium balloon.
