What are your going to have in thanksgiving?

No idea, and I won't know until the day of Thanksgiving, because it's just a regular day for me. I don't believe in the "everybody get together and be happy like the Pilgrims and Indians did", because that's not how it really went down. If I explain any further I will have to move this to P&N.
 
It's more a question of which turkey gets the axe 🙂
I've got one turkey that's limping a little bit; it looks like his time has come.
But, I've got the big white one that I had wanted to butcher for thanksgiving.

Maybe I'll do both. The bronze turkey will be the deep fried turkey (if he fits in the deep fryer), and the big white one will be roasted. 🙂 I haven't got a clue how many pounds either is, but they hatched in May and by early September were around 24 pounds.
So, 4 1/2 months = 24 pounds. How much more weight have they gained in a little more than 2 months? I'm guessing the biggest is well over 30 pounds right now. And, butchering them will save on all the food those suckers eat. The 5 turkeys I have ate approximately 500 pounds of feed since September.

When's Easter next year? I'm not sure if the pig will be big enough by then for butchering.

for christmas we have ham unless it is a very large group of people, then we'll add a turkey to the ham

We used to do it that way. But the last few years have become more and more informal (with more and more family members) at Christmas. It's now more of a party throughout the day. Dinner is served buffet style, on paper (good quality 😛 ) plates. I do beef on wecks for xmas. HUGE slow roasted round roast, medium rare, sliced paper thin on a kimmelweck roll. MMMmmmmm.

btw, it's SOOO much nicer to have the family together without having to have 2 or 3 of them responsible for doing a ton of dishes, cleaning up after dinner, etc. Everyone finishes dinner, leftovers are wrapped and tossed in the fridge, and the dinnerware is discarded, creating one more garbage bag which will sit next to the garbage bags filled with wrapping paper. If you've never decided to say to heck with the formalities and just get out paper plates (the nice ones, decorated for xmas), I highly recommend giving it a try.
