Everyone knows that from time to time, programmers hid little surprises in their software known as "Easter Eggs" named after the popular game that children love to play around Easter where eggs are hidden in random locations around a given area and they have to find them. I've seen a number of them hidden in some of the most amazing places. Some are even hidden directly in the source code and are very hard to find unless you know what you're looking for.

My favorite is the "Electric Cat" Easter Eggs hidden in Adobe Photoshop. I think those are neat.

What are some of your favorites?

The one I just recently encountered was playing Operation Flashpoint on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All the fir trees were decorated with ornaments with presents under them. I was multi-playing on the LAN with my son. It took us both by surprise and we had a really good laugh.

If you're gonna post an EE then at least give a clue on how to find it. So what's up with the Electric Cat? I have version 6 and all I know of is a cat on the splash screen at start up.

Windows 3D Pipes Screen Saver "teacup" and "teapot" easter eggs. That's a riot!

Ok, well maybe its not a riot. In fact, it isn't remotely entertaining, but I do it anyway.

The easter egg at the end of Warcraft 3 when you get to see Starcraft units fight.
This got my hopes up because I thought SC2 was going to be out sometime soon after seeing that, BUT THEY ARE RELEASING GHOST INSTEAD.
Sorry, had to vent.
