What are your experiences with DVD-R media?

The best cheap DVD-R disk I have used is this, but it's not like I have used many different brands. The only problem I have with these disk is that they will only burn at 1x.

I've had mixed results with the cheaper DVDPro disks that meritline sells. The first batch worked fine, but second set of disk had trouble in my set top toshiba DVD player.

Does anyone know of any good quality 2x media that $1 per disk or less?

I have used the Ritek General Purpose dvd-r's and haven't had a problem with them. They are only rated at 1x, but many people have had success burning them at 2x (using the Pioneer firmware patch). They are around $.80 a disc now.
