What are your 9800 overclocks?

I did a search on 9800(pro or otherwise) overclocks and found nothing. I recently purchased a 9800pro and found that i can overclock it quite well, and was wondering whether or not this was typical.

475 mhz gpu
378(756) mhz ram

I got the 9800 np w/ 3.0ns infineon and my memory clocks to only 325, core I tried 420 but I didn't want to push it too much even with my zalman heatsink. 3dmark03 score is about 5600. I wonder if upgrading my motherboard would make my 3dmark score go higher

Yeah, mine seem a bit high, anyone know if how i can tell what it is running at? Powerstrip tells me that those are the speeds, but I dont know how reliable that is. Anyway, Im not complaining, it runs Halo pretty well. :) I dont run it at that speed often though, it gets pretty hot. But I did play Halo for an hour once at those speeds and there were not noticable problems.

I would call that very good, especially the core clock. I have mine clocked at 405 core/360 mem. I get some pixel errors over 415 core and artifacts over 375 memory. Peace.

PS - This is a repost. Earlier thread

Sorry, I couldnt find any other posts about this. I did forget to add that I do have ram heatsinks on it.

Running 420\365. Could probably run higher if I used a fan... But my memory seems pretty much maxed here, I get artifacts with any more speed...

Are you guys getting those memory speeds with infineon 3.0ns? I can't get anywhere above 325 without artifacting. With the zalman I have no room for ramsinks

Mine is also a Pro. I have no idea what memory it has. It's built by ATI.

Running mine at 400/290. Anything more and the memory artifacts... Pathetic I know. 3.3ns Samsung is the chips on the board and they run HOT. I'm starting to think I got a some wonky chips.

Edit: slapped some OCZ RAMsinks on my card (using the stock thermal adhesive tape). New speeds: 400/335 MHz, ZERO artifacts whatsoever. I'm very impressed with these little heatsinks!

Edit 2: Flashed to Pro BIOS. Fans blowing fresh air over the card. Now at 436/378 and counting!!!

i have a bba 9800np and i get it up to 396 core with crystal orb, i only put the orb on there cause i allready had it,, could ati's stock cooling work better for core overclocks?????? i originaly had it to 410 with crystal orb but then started getting missing textures with ati's directx 9 demos..
i just dont know if i should put stock cooling back on or not...

I'm using Rage3D to oc my 9800 Pro. I've running it at 405 core/360 memory with not artifacts. I will try pusing it a bit higher, but I want to let it "season" at this setting for a while.

I have a sapphire 9800np with the infineon 3.0ns memory. Have been to the infineon web site. It's only rated to 333mhz. Have overclocked yet but I have got the reference ATI 9800 pro Heatsink and fan on mine..

Tried a bunch of diffrent setting but the best for all games I currently own is 475/320 Can get it to run older games @ 490/340 but on games like Halo and Max Payne 2 it gives me artifacts on the floor and walls on both.

PS Im surprised the core is scaling so badly on some of these overclocks guess I got a core out of a good batch of cards.

Built by Ati 9800P (stock cooling) at 450/730 with Cat. 3.5 and/or 443/730 with Cat. 3.8. With Cat. 3.8 I'm unable to overclock as high because of the temperature. 425/730 is where it's at on the daily bases.

Sapphire 9800 np, Infineon 3.0ns RAM :(

450/660 non-pro, not BIOS flashed (yet).

450 does work, but gives slight artifacts in some 3D Mark 2k1 tests and GL Excess.
Might take it down to 445. Using stock cooler at the moment.

I'm currently running at 398/348 without any artifacts.

After seeing jiffylube1024's pre/post OCZ RAMsink results I decided to order some for my 9800NP. Even though I really don't *need* the extra speed right now it wouldn't hurt to have it. Plus I'll feel better with the RAM running cooler anyway. :)

475?!? Wow that's a lot... I have my 9800np BIOS flashed to pro running @ 440core and memory at 380 anything 445/385 that on either memory or core will get me artifacts on Either Aquamark3 or 3dmark03 (I run both to check for artifacts).

I had actually ran a pro in my system for a littlewile (to campre if there were any difference between brand new ATI sealed in box 9800PRO and my OEM nonpro). At 440/380 the actual pro was showing me artifacts pretty heavily in the troll's lair test of 3Dmark03.

So this 475 bit is quite surprising to me. I'm jealous :( I can't go that far. But I am happy for you. :)
(that's nearly 9800XT performance)

My Hightech 9800 np with infineons overclocks to about 395/335 without artifacts.
Im not too happy about the core speed.

Looking at the other overclocks apprantly I simply got a great chip. HowEver I think my aircooling setup may help since I have about 410cfm of air flowing thru my case at any given moment. And have a 90cfm 120mm fan blowing on my Agp slot. Still have to apply some ram sinks to the memory to get my final overclock. I think im going to aim for a final stable overclock of 480Core 350MEMDDR...Wish me luck I get my ramsinks on friday 10-24-03.

Anyone flashed Infineon 3.0ns to Pro BIOS?

I've been looking at a guide, and:
Before you flash, check to see what brand of memory is on your card. Unless you have Samsung 2.2ns, 2.8ns, 3.0ns, or 3.3ns do not flash. If you have any of the above Samsung memory and your cards memory tops at say 330MHz, you should be OK to flash, as the 9800Pro BIOS slightly raises the voltage going to the memory, allowing for higher clocks. I also have a bios version for those who were unfortunate enough to have memory that cannot reach 340MHz. This BIOS will set the memory speed to 325MHz and will set the core speed the same which is 380MHz. You can download the modified bios right here.

It says not to flash unless you have Samsung memory, so I'm not sure if I should.
My Infineon will hit 330MHz, so I downloaded the BIOS for 380MHz core/325MHz RAM. Haven't used it yet just in case.

Link to guide

I'm running at 436/378 now, artifact free after flashing to Pro BIOS. Check my thread about it. It's unreal!
