Here I am, 21 years old, at college, and sick with no idea what to do.

I havent been sick in years and this is the first time sick away from home.

Someone want to tell me what I am supposed to eat today? What things are safe to eat, as in wont want to leave as soon as they go in? So far I have been guzzling water, seems like a good idea.

I want my mommy! :(

Eat balanced and healthy. Not any one particular food, but foods that will give you complete daily nutrition. However, if it's stomach flu you have, good luck keeping anything down..

Have you tried Ginger Ale and Saltines yet? Something my grandmother use to prescribe for a bad stomach

Drink lots of fluids and try to eat your fruits/veggies. Eat light foods (rice/pasta is great, as is soup and OJ if it doesn't upset your stomach). Other than that, just make sure to get lots of rest and you'll be fine.

Ditto.
Drag yourself or have a friend get it: Lots of juices for the vitamin c, saltines to avoid upset stomach (from the acid in the juices), and soups as your primary food. Stay away from the chunky style heavies though, go with the regular chicken noodle, tomato, etc.
Good Luck.

You can eat rice and/or pasta, (noodles are pasta) but be sure to 'soak' em enough so what you eat won't soak up more water inside your stomach, that will make you feel worse.

You spend years in anticipation of leaving home and finally being on your own, and then at the first sign of troubles you long back to the good old days when mom knew what to do ;)
(Don't worry, most of us (if not all) have been there, if not when ill then when trying to cook something or when messing up the laundry for the first time)

Wow! The aliens are still around! It's been almost a year since you guys took your little virtual vacation! How many of you are left?

I would imagine chicken noodle soup would be good. And I'm not sure, but orange juice maybe. I'm in the same boat as you. I'd wake up in the morning and feel bad and I'll call my mom right away and say "Mom, I'm sick. What do I eat?" :)

I saw a three day "recovery" diet once (worked well), but can't quite recall the specifics.

Day 1: Clear broths and soups (i.e. plain chicken noodle or beef noodle), saltines, jello

Day 2: The above plus dry toast, bananas, applesauce, vegetable soups, plain oatmeal (?)

Day 3: ? Add rice, noodles--don't remember

Avoid dairy, fat, (both hard to digest), alcohol (dehydrates you), and I think meat. Drink lots of liquids, but don't overdo the juice.

Well, something like that.

Well if you aren't holding anything down, skip the noodles in the chicken soup, just drink the broth.
Tea, Jello, and Gatorade are good too.

And call your Mommy :D

I just never left ;)

The rest seems to be gone though, a few returned after a while to check things out, but most weren't fluent enough in English anyway to follow all the conversations here. Might be a few around still, but in that case they have changed their names.
