Hi,

I have just got and installed my 170 opteron and currently running it at 2.4ghz@1.45v

I was just curious what other people were running their 170's at to get an idea about my new chip.

Thanks in advance for your time if you post.:)

2.75GHz at 1.55V at the moment (board seems to overvolt a little bit, actual average is closer to 1.57-1.58V)

I'm still trying to find my max stable overclock, finding the best settings for memory dividers and such. May back down a little, this board's BIOS is a bit quirky.

matt, have you seen any problems with the voltage flucuating any? Maybe thats what you are referring to by quirky...have read some that what is indicated it is running at may not necessarily be on the money.

Yeah, I have actually...(according to the voltage monitoring I've done anyway)...I've seen it drop as low as 1.53V momentarily, I think

what cooling are you using and what are your temps like?

thanks btw

Thermalright SI-120 heatsink with TT Smart Case Fan II 120mm...idle temps are 35C or so and load (with both cores at or near 100% in video encoding) is 46-47C

well i cant get 2.6ghz without silly volts.

can get 2.5ghz prime stable @ 1.525 vcore both cores

1.475 2.5ghz core 1 fails core 0 passes so i i have a weak core

Not good at all .

anyone know hoew to burn in core 1? i heard if i burn in the weak core i can then get it to run at the same vcore as the good core?

Running 2.7Ghz prime stable at 1.5 volt, temps are 37 idle 49 loaded. Motherboard DFI LP[UT] RDX200 CF-DR. Running 9X300. I actually haven't tried to push it higher, because that's all the speed I need out of it. It's pushing an ATI X1800XT and does a fine job at what I usa it for.

Edit:typo's

Opteron 170 CCBWE 0534SPMW
2.5Ghz, 1.35*104%
30C Idle
40C Load

Super stable at this setting. Cannot get past this wall though, I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong though.

prime95 small fft almost 7 hours

2.83 ghz with 1.5 volts (bios)

temps were running 45-47C's load.

on dual f@h its running 43-44C's load.

what are your volt settings in bios? 1.4 *104%...
what bios version are you running?

very sweet chip....

1.5*104%

i hear that the dfi board overvolts like crazy :(

i've read its anywhere from 0.05 to .1 volts higher than what you set in bios.

explains why i couldn't get my 0530APMW 146 stable on my asus a8rmvp board.

holy crap...so that means when setting vcore and bios reads say 1.4..the chip is getting 1.5-1.9v??? holy crap..why is this board not killing more cpus
or did you mean it overvolts 0.05-0.1?

2.6Ghz @ 1.3875v :D

Although to hit 2.7Ghz, I need to up volts to 1.5v. Opterons are like that. You'll get a lot of room to OC on stock, but once a core starts to fail, you gotta up the volts a good amount to get it stable at a marginally higher OC.

Is this true?
