What are you playing this weekend? (7/24)

Hello 4-day weekend for me as I'm taking off Monday to take my kids and nephew to Six Flags and Tuesday to spend the day with my wife for our anniversary.

Otherwise, I'll probably be doing heavy rotations of BF1943 and 1 vs 100. Also want to give the 'Splosion Man demo a try.

PC games on a 10+ man LAN. We will play whatever suits us all. Probably some CoD4, some type of strategy game (breaking out Total Annihilation has even been discussed), GRID, and AIX for Battlefield 2.

Might dust off the PS3 (literally) and finally open Dead Space, maybe start MGS4 and Resistance 2, and might try to finish Infamous since. If not there's always BF1943 on the 360.

Went to GS to grab some of the $20 specials, then I got there and just didn't find them as appealing so I picked up Riddick instead. Played through Butcher Bay already, starting up Dark Athena. Really amazing deal particularly if you haven't played through BB(which is great), $39.99 new, like $30 used.

Also got on a bit of a retro kick. Rerelease of FF7 had me dig out my old copy and start playing through it, Disk 1 was scratched on the cut scene where Sephiroth tweaks and burns the village so I bought the PSN version and me and my boys had a blast playing through that together, so much so that I went and bought FFIV, FFV, FFVI and Chrono Trigger off of Amazon for like $35 total(include FF7 and under $50 for at least four if not five of the best RPGs ever, not too shabby) we have been playing through those. Finished off 7 and ChronoTrigger and about halfway through 4 atm, having a blast. Luckily my kids are fine with sub par graphics, although we all did get a good laugh going back and forth between Prototype and ChronoTrigger last weekend 😛

I just got bought a couple copies of Halo 3, so I'll be doing some coop campaigning with my wife. Maybe try some online multiplayer as well.

Got the Gamefly 10 day trial period, even though it takes em 3-4 days to ship out a game. I received Prototype today and hopefully I should be getting Red Faction tommorow. I just recently bought a wireless PS2 controller for my original Playstation, so I might fire up some Final Fantasy (probably VI) games from the comforts of my bed.

Battlefield: Bad Company. I don't know why I've been avoiding this game, because it's turned out to be a lot of fun. The only thing bugging me is the AI is awful, awful, awful. I can't count the number of times a squad mate has been standing face to face with an enemy doing nothing until I start firing. Also the hypo needle feels really cheap.

Other than that I picked up Dreamfall for the original Xbox. It's alright so far, but nothing compared to The Longest Journey. I'm just glad it's in widescreen; I can't force myself to play 4:3 originals.

Xmen Origins still, trying to get as many achievements as I can before I send it back in.

Trying to finish kotor 1, I already beat part 2 a couple years ago. I told myself if I could just get through this, then I will reward myself with Fifa 09 for the 360 (and give my brain a rest) 🙂

Probably not much of anything. I played some 1V100 tonight, and about to jump on some CoD: W@W to try and hurry to get to 10th prestige (9th prestige lvl 20 right now) before November 10th. But I have to go out of town tomorrow till Wednesday so I dunno.

I just played through The Secret of Monkey Island twice (2nd for speed run) and it was phenomenal. I'd never played it back in the day and it was money well spent. Now I'm back to BF1943 or I may purchase 'Splosion Man. Can anyone recommend that to me?

FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: My Life as a Darklord

Really hard to get into this game for me, seems like it is less strategy and more "lose once, but remember the mob order and build the specific only way possible to win next time"

'Splosion man is awesome. Gonna play much more of that.
BF 1943
Try to finish RE5
Red Faction Guerrilla
Street Fighter 4

I have so many half finished games it is ridiculous.

borrowed Gears of War 2 off a friend..then i still haven't started Skate 2, Fight Night 4 and UFC (PS3) to start from last week's B2G1 Gamestop deal.

Oh a bit of a mix I guess. Working on Afro Samurai (decent game), Riddick Dark Athena (will probably play through Butcher's Bay again), may finally give in and buy BF1943 as so many people seem to be enjoying it.

I'm playing Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason and replaying Mass Effect. Also going to dive back into Saints Row 2.

I picked up a metric ton of games from a sweet sale Hollywood Video was having and instead of playing them I dusted off Rock Band 2 and have been playing it. Go figure.

Playing Prototype this weekend. Also checking out Tiger Woods 10, and Wii Hotel whatever it's called. Prototype is pretty damn cool

I'd give it a solid "mediocre". There's stuff to like, but the developers just never seem to execute very well.

I wound up playing Soul Calibur 4, which I always love, plus Class of Heroes on the PSP. Class of Heroes has a bizarre reputation for being super-hard, but I find it to have a relatively gentle learning curve if you have some familiarity with the dungeon crawl genre. It also lets you save anywhere, which is great if you can only get bite-sized gaming chunks in... thanks, grad school!

Part of what leaves a bad taste in my mouth is that I'd just retired Tales of Vesperia after a hundred hours or so. Infinite Undiscovery just doesn't measure up.

SC4, so far 40 hours or so on it clearing the tower and unlocking everything. Way more fun than I thought it would be.
