Looking for a new game to play, wondering what everyone else is up to. Seems to me there is a lull in quality new games currently. So, what are you playing?

Excluding the PC, I'm playing a few different games...

Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed
A pretty good game. Although, it is a bit infuriating when you lose at the end because someone happens to smack you with an item right near the finish line. :(
Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3
Looks great and plays fairly well. It's pretty much a must buy for any fan of the show or someone that just wants a game with a good presentation.

...and I just got the following games in today...

BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend
I had a chance to try this out a little bit today, and it is really nice to play a fighter where the characters only have about two dozen moves. I'm so used to games like Dead or Alive where each character has 100+ combos!

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition
Haven't had a chance to play this yet, but I picked it up since I didn't feel like buying the DLC for the normal version that I own. I also wanted it on the 360 instead of the PS3. I haven't really played Mortal Kombat seriously since UMK3 on the SNES, but it should be good.

Too much to play!

tomb raider on 360.

played it 7 hours in 2 days and i honestly think this is the best single player experience this gen. it makes uncharted look like childs play, and i'm a HUGE uncharted fan. the game is just incredible like a non stop movie that just won't let down.

Will reinstall X-Com once I have enough money to buy 8GB of RAM to replace the 4GB. Right now, I'm playing Valkyria Chronicles II on PSP.

MLB the show. I'm not really digging it though. Plus I'm waiting for Tomb Raider to get here.

Wish the show was on xbox. Tired of The 2k series.

Walking Dead, just bought it on the PSN sale. I'm definitely liking it.

Good play through. Disc version on 360 is super bugged and saves get nuked.

Definitely wanna pick this up, have heard awesome reviews so far.

Loved X-Com as well. Did 2 playthroughs.

Personally Ive been playing Borderlands 2. Would be better if my internet allowed multiplayer. Kinda wish I didn't get the DLC season pass though. Its good but I dunno about $30 good. Luckily I picked up the game used for $30 so I'm only $60 in.

Tomb raider really just looks like a girl-uncharted. I didn't like uncharted to begin with, so I don't think that's worth my money.

I was thinking about Xcom - it looks similar to a strategy-rpg (e.g. final fantasy tactics, but clearly way updated). Is that a fair assessment?

Pretty much just:

The Old Republic
Fire Emblem Awakening

On again/Off again:

ArmA II

Played for awhile, slowed/stopped playing for one reason or another:

Fallout New Vegas
Xenoblade Chronicles
NBA 2K13

Thinking about starting up:

Uncharted 3
Baldur's Gate

Borderlands 2

I'm having trouble with BL2. Its not as exciting as the first one for some reason. It plays more like a Gears of War knee high cover wave shooter than the original Borderlands. I'm starting to get worn out with endless waves of enemies that spawn over and over and over every time you breath. Makes a 30 second "gather x" side quest take hours.

Especially annoying is defeating everything thinking you are done, then no sooner than you eliminate the last red dot on the radar, 100 more red dots appear instantly for the 10th time. Just leave me the fuck alone to explore!

Really enjoyed the first, but BL2 is getting on my nerves with its endless respawns and excessive raunch that was WAY over done.

God of War 1.

I recently bought the God of War Saga, so I'm playing through all the games. I've never played them before. I think I'm about halfway through the first one, so I've got lots of hours of enjoyment left.

How does Skylanders work? Both of my kids are asking for it, but I haven't really done any research on it.

Its just a regular game that you buy, but it comes with this thing called a portal. You put on whatever figure you want to play with and he comes alive on the screen. You can switch them out whenever you want. They level up and gain new abilities that you buy for them. So its an RPG, but a very basic one. The game is pretty easy overall but there is some difficulty involved in the later levels, and in some of the game's puzzles. My son is 8 and he was able to complete the whole game on his own, on normal difficulty. Some parts were tough for him though.

Each time you buy a new figure, you get to unlock that guy's abilities and level him up from scratch so it kinda keeps breathing new life into the game. I highly recommend it. But just know that it will end up costing more than just the cost of the game itself, you will probably end up buying more figures at roughly 10 dollars each. My son has like 15 of them now. He gets them as presents from relatives and has been slowly collecting for a while now.

I'm currently doing a second play-through of Dishonored. First time through I just basically killed everybody. Now I'm going for a no kill/not detected run.

Also have been playing Defense Grid: The Awakening sporadically. I got this on
XBLA a couple years ago and never played it for some reason. I love this game.

Finished up with Ni no Kuni a couple weeks ago, which was fairly entertaining.

This is interesting. I definitely did not have this experience. I played through the entire game plus two of the DLCs before shelving it. I think I understand what you mean though. It is not as explor-y as Skyrim, for sure. But then again, you go everywhere in the game (pretty much) just from doing all the missions so I'm not sure why or where you would truly explore.

Just get in a vehicle and run stuff over.

Just wish I could walk two steps without triggering another hours worth of enemy waves. Just kill and kill and kill and stupid red dots just keeps spawning out of nowhere. Finally grab the quest item oh look my radar is covered in more red dots. The simplest tasks take forever as a result.

Leave me alone I have shit to do.

Original Borderlands wasn't anywhere near this annoying and repetative that I remember. I throuroughly enjoyed the original, to the point of 100% completion with all DLC and even farmed the Atlas Ogre.

Strange. I definitely didn't find that was a problem. There were definitely more enemies, no question. But if you kill them all they eventually stop coming until you reload the area. Hours seems a bit dramatic to me.
