google TV by far

3d is a dumb gimmick IMO, until they figure out how to do it without the stupid glasses it will always be a waste of money and a marketing gimmick to me

Both are a big "meh" to me. 3D has more to add if done right. Google TV does absolutely nothing to impress me.

I heard some 3d content will become available through service providers this summer. I tried the in-store 3d demo with the Panasonic p50vt25 I think. It was pretty cool, but I don't know if I can fork over the extra $800 for that feature. Especially if it's not been market tested.

GoogleTV just reminds me of a modern version of WebTV. Not really sure why this is a big deal, other than Google is doing it and not Microsoft.

3D TV just seems like a gimmick to me that will pass.

So, I guess I don't really care much about either one 🙂

And until they have TV's that have actual refresh rates in the 120Hz plus range, it is also pointless. I have still yet to see a TV that has a panel with REAL response rates 8ms and under. I also love the claims by a lot of companies that they have 4ms LCD screen refresh times, when even the fastest TN panels can't even do that, and that TN panel looks like crap on a TV due to off-angle color issues.

I like google tv just because if successful it will make web based television much more complete than it is today. I'm paying $60/mo for internet service, why should I pay another $60/mo to watch TV?

sony is really pushing 3D. I don't care for 3D. It's cool, but I wearing the glasses gives me a headache. Can't imagine buying a NEW tv just to watch limited content in 3D. I think they need a way to make 3D TV with out glasses. Sony has lost a lot of money and has not seen a profit for a long time. I guess if they don't get this right they may have to cut back on a lot of things. I just don't think the time is right for 3D yet.

Google TV? Bring it on.
