I would have to say Old Age. Being senile and/or having no energy scares the heck out of me.

What if I have terrible kids who want to put me in a home?

What if I have to stay bed-ridden?

Good Lord, I am so scared.

Old age by far. Being at least partially disabled (physically and probably mentally as well) is everything but an attractive prospect.

old age b/c of all the darn diseases...
if i get a stroke then i'll get bedridden and people will have to feed me; i might get bed ulcers and then those will have to be treated; what if i get cancer? Then it will be a slow painful death...hell, old age is scary! At least death comes when yo uleast expect it and you are gone and don't have to deal with the pain an dsuffering...

Neither..............they're both going to come and worrying about them will stress you out and make you age more quickly!;)

neither- when I die it'll hopefully be quiet enough that I can get some decent sleep and if I become infirm I was really nice to my children who will be in charge of choosing my nursing home :D

Old Age, by far. The idea of not being able to control my bowel movements and pooping in my pants while wearing a diaper is probably the most humiliating thing I can imagine. And I'm serious about that... :Q:eek:

Death, whenever it comes, is a sweet release, IMHO.

Judging by my lifestyle, I'd say death. I don't fear death unless it's going to be painful (and it's that anticipation that gets me).

I'd rather live a long and prosperous life, and then bear the troubles of old age, than die at 30 due to cancer or a traffic accident or some such.

Old age!!!! I wanna be like some great old people I see where they can function up to the day they die.

I am so scared what if. . . .

I am not afraid of death. It still puzzles me why people dread death so much. Even those with religious beliefs who claim we have an after life or the soul is eternal are dreadful about death. Or is it the idea that they might go to hell or their souls might not be at rest that makes them dread death? That is, are they not so assured of a place for them in heaven instead of hell?

Oh well! Death isn't really what scares me. It's old age that scares me. All I ask about death is that I die a peaceful, painless one. :) And I'm sure many wish for that. I know my curiosity about what becomes of man and earth makes me want to stay on earth longer in order to witness history, but what have I to lose if the theory that the soul is distinct from the body and carries on is true? That means I get to see what becomes of the earth and mankind but from a different dimension. :D

Life is all we have, so it makes sense to be scared of it. I'm not religious so I'm unsure about what happens after. For that I envy followers of a religion, if only because ignorance is bliss (at least AFAIK, of course they think it is truth so that's fine for them).

Old age, absolutely. I don't want to be feeble and dependent on others just to live without dignity or worth.

Old age. Maybe not health problems, but being old fashioned. My grandma can't believe they let me have sideburns at school.
