I can't imagine using headphones for casual listening... It makes me feel so tied down and wrapped up. I think of headphones for critical listening...

I'm not listening to anything. Actually I can hear my computer a little bit over my air conditioner, and it's really aggrivating me.

Yeah, Logitechs are good for that "nothing" sound when you're not playing anything. ;)

well maybe you need to get an amp to bring your headphones up to a level adequate for casual listening ;) personally i find HD-580s very comfy - i could wear them for hours without feeling tied down or irritated

I think the Bose triports are more comfortable than any of Sennheisers offerings, I have actually forgotten I had them on and walked off before (damage). My HD600s are pretty comfortable too. The RS85s are... slightly less comfortable. My ears are too big for the cups.

All my headphones are loud enough, I can't play any of them above half volume or they're too loud... They just make me feel closed in, it's such a hassle to take them off to get up. That's why when I do use headphones, rarely, I use my RS85s.

God no :p 2.1 for music

I suggested CMSS in the other thread if GW volume wasn't sufficient. Seeing as there's no way you can be within 20 feet of these speakers (unless a wall is in the way) and say that, I figure if the soundstage is already gone due to distance / obstacles, CMSS is a way to increase the volume some.

why pad to 24bit..much less 32 bit, much less upsample to 192khz when by design the mp3 codec has already removed that info from the file.

Skinny Puppy is still around?! (I saw them back in the early 90s at the Fillmore in SF, after Vivisect VI came out. Amazing band.) I thought they broke up after Nivek Ogre OD'd on heroin?

Who's doing the vocals?

Edit: After researching this, apparently I had heard wrong and Ogre is still around. :)
