Had another bottle of Double Bastard on Christmas, along with a small batch bourbon my brother got us as a gift. Tonight we're throwing a party, so the bar is fully stocked, we've got beer and wine and I'm making a mulled cider. I reckon I'll be mixing up quite a few cocktails, if not tonight, then over the next week and change I have off. Merry Christmas indeed.

Guinness extra stout
root beer from Appalachian Brewing
cold coffee

Been debating on whiskey, but don't know if I'm in the mood.

Edit:
went with Tullamore Dew. Tastes good.

Party went well, and I did indeed end up making a fair number of cocktails (including fancy drinks with raw egg whites and absinthe mists!), but I think the star was the mulled cider. Super easy to make, serves dozens of people and it's delicious (recipe courtesy of Imbibe magazine).

1 gallon unfiltered unsweetened apple cider (we used Trader Joe's Honeycrisp cider)
750 ml rye whiskey
750 ml sweet vermouth
1/2 cup sugar
5 whole cloves
3 whole cinnamon sticks
10 dashes Angostura bitters

Dump everything in a large pot or crockpot, give it a stir, set it on low heat and let it warm for an hour or two before serving (and you can keep it on low heat throughout the party). It's the easiest thing in the world, but it's just fantastic. You can garnish with a thin strip of orange peel pierced by a cinnamon stick, but we gave up on that pretty quick; orange peels are surprisingly hard to pierce with a cinnamon stick.

Started off with a Pina Colada from Pops then made some homemade strawberry daiquiris now we are finishing off the night with some Modelos.

Well, i had two vieux , cola zero.
But the glass is usually for my friend who is a big tall guy.

To correct my self, i had two buckets of vieux , cola zero. 😎

I had some Double Bastard last week, and I'm definitely not a fan. I didn't do my homework (oops), but I fucking hate anything pale ale or similar.

Tonight will be Trois Pistoles or La Terrible...oui oui.

Going to be cracking open Macallan 12 year tonight to toast off one of the more interesting years I've had in a while.
