I sincerely hate you because I'm trying to quit drinking (as often) but these pictures just make me go nom nom

Sorry :D

I only have one a few times a week. On a weekend I might have two or three but that is super rare. Most of the stuff I drink is quite strong and I wouldn't be able to handle multiples unless I had em a few hours apart.

I might cut back to just three a week because I don't want to have a beer belly and I'm too lazy to work out.

It's pretty meh. Priced between red and black, it has the sharp alcoholic burn of cheap whisky. It tastes like it could be something with another couple years in the barrel, but it would still be substanard compared to others in its class.

Well. My TR hasn't arrived yet but this was waiting for me when I got home. A single cask guyanese rum from indie bottler sansibar. It's been bottled at a very manly 52%.

Pretty good, but expensive for what it is($45). Smooth and tasty, but nothing really outstanding. It's made under contract(by who?), and I can't find a mash bill, so who knows? It's slightly better than my old goto of Pikesville which I got for ~$13/bottle. They rudely quit making the cheap version of Pikesville, and didn't tell me. If I had known, I'd have bought two or three cases. It wasn't anything amazing, but it was highly drinkable, and priced right, so it made a good fill in when I wasn't sure what I wanted, or wanted to save a couple bucks. Two or three cases would have set me up for life :^/

edit:
I was just looking at Michter's site, and they posted this for the barrel strength straight rye...

Since the 1990's, the Michter's team has been doing pioneering work to re-establish the high quality American Rye whiskey category. The May 2015 inaugural release of Michter's US 1 Barrel Strength Rye marks yet another milestone in that quest. For maturation, the Rye distillate is entered into the barrel at 103 proof, rather than a more industry standard higher proof. Barrel entry at a lower proof of 103 rather than a higher proof costs Michter's more money in terms of barrels and warehousing, but we believe it yields a richer, smoother, more full-bodied whiskey after proper maturation. A single barrel product, each barrel of Michter's US 1 Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Rye is bottled at its particular alcohol level at the time of bottling. The majority of barrels in the inaugural release range from 108 to 110.8 proof. To savor it is a unique experience for anyone who enjoys Rye whiskey.
What kind of witchcraft is this, where whisky comes out of the barrel stronger than it went in?!

Separate the last sentence from the last paragraph in the edit above. If I try to edit it, it's refused due to being spam-like???!!! I guess I didn't incorporate enough Korean. Holy fuck this software eats shit :^S

I love their ginger beer. The only place I've seen it was a particular highland games from a fish & chips truck. Haven't been back there in ages, therefore I haven't had the Bundaberg :^(

Michter's rye again. It's growing on me. It's a little more complex than I first gave it credit for. I still think it's overpriced though. $45 will get you a decent scotch, and that's aged longer, and comes from the other side of the world. Rye's trendy atm. Maybe that's why :^/

Michter's yet again, but also some Sagamore rye. I hate to say it cause Sagamore's a home town brand, but I think I prefer the Michter's. Sagamore's still made under contract though. I'm looking forward to the MD distilled product. Maybe that'll be the difference.

I had a particularly bad day at work so sprung for some expensive(Imo anyways) imported beer. Picked up 8 Gulden Draak. It's a Belgian beer, really tasty. It's 10.5% though so if I make it through all 8 I'm going to be obliterated.

I LOVE some Draak!! There is a place near me that does draft pours of 16 oz at $10.50. They should be 6.5 oz pours, but they always give 16s. I've needed a DD after eating dinner there.

Tonight is a cleanup night. I had a tasting for a couple that is interested in having some of my mead for a wedding party. We opened a number of bottles and just had a 1.5 oz sample out of them, so I'm left with a ton of mead that needs finished off. They want 50 bottles for the wedding party and my 50 year package. Its bottles labeled 1-50 to be opened each anniversary.

This. Neat.

I actually prefer Glenlivet. Macallan always tasted harsh to me.

Drinking the trub from this bottling. It's a pineapple coconut melomel 7 gallon batch made with 24 pounds of Star Thistle honey 15 pineapples 3 roasted coconuts and 1.5 gallons of coconut water. Its fucking amazing if I do say so myself. 17% and smoothe as a babys ass. Every bottle was claimed before it was filled. I ether need to make 2 batches next time or get a larger fermenter.

Uh oh, you shouldn't have done that. Now you're going to be addicted to Belgians like me :(

No but seriously, I haven't gone back to typical domestic beers since getting hooked on Belgian strong ales. I recommend you give some Belgian Trappist beers a try (Chimay, Westmalle, Rochefort, Orval, etc...)
