i get up at 4am, and goto sleep at 11pm.

Sleep wasn't a biggie when I was younger, and didn't have a "real" job. I can't work exhausted just for giggles anymore.

but isnt that automatic?

i mean like for officers, isnt Major automatic? who the hell retires as an army captain?

and i'm doing my taxes this thurs. extension expires oct 15.

Honestly I don't know how the promotion system is for officers. I believe the higher ranking officer in their chain of command reviews the OER (Officer Evaluation Record) and they recommend them for promotion as such.

On the enlisted side, E-1 - E-4 with enough time in service and grade, is automatic. Going from E-4 to E-5 (SGT) and E-5 to E-6 (SSG) you must attend a board with your top enlisted personnel (usually consist of a CSM, and 3 1SG). They can fail you, believe me, I saw it happen to 4 people today lol.

Im heading home on the train now. Will eat a small meal, lift, eat a big meal, clean my entire apartment, and read as much of catch 22 before I doze. About 60 pages in so far
