_for the single people_
going to the mall and talking to everybody, guy or girl. engage in whatever social conversation there is, of the smallest of anything to everything you can think of.
after you find out a little bit about them and what they're doing and where they're from, "see you around!"
once you come to someone you like and the age you're lookin' at, "well it's Valentine's Day, and both of us don't really have a date, you wanna go get something to eat and hang out for a little while afterwards?"
-offer to hang out with them until they're done shopping and grab some food later, fast food or a nice place, but not super nice, or ask to meet you someone at XYZ
-guy pays
-have a very nice Vday card ready, and fill it out in front of him or her, to let them know you're interested
-ask if they want desert, get it at the eat-in or go somewhere else, or if no, don't eat anymore
-find a designated place, not necessarily outside as it may still be cold this time of year, and talk a bit more, have some sodas ready or some fruit drinks and just chat over nothing and everything
-now is a better time to ask for contact information
-when you depart, drop 'em off at home or take 'em back to their car, don't have to hug since it was a first meet unless you knew that person for at least a 1 week or unless they absolutely offer the hug _ don't kiss either, relationships beginning that early usually end early, so don't expect any physical contact other than being next to each other
-before the good night, "you think we can do this again sometime?"
-offer them to call you when they get home just to see if they're safe, but to also get them to know if they're still interested in you or not
that said, if you're single, and you're free, and you don't "attempt" anything, then you're not thinking out of the box _ in a nation of over 300 million indivituals, half are boys and the other half are girls, a majority from every age group and all walks of life _ there is no way you can't score a date unless you are so geeky that the Geek Squad rejected you from employment at their shops even though you seemed to be overqualified with their own company standards.
