Doordash is such a scam. The only reason I order anything through them is I get $60 credit from Chase Sapphire Reserve card for this year and another $60 credit for next year as credit card benefit. I still have around $30 I still have to use before this year is up or I lose the credit. So I will order burgers next week from my favorite local burger joint but pick it up myself.

If you want to support your local joints, order direct and skip the middlemen leaches like Doordash, Uber Eats, etc.

TL,DR: This is a cool new oven that (1) automates cooking to (2) give you perfect results. It's expensive, but 100% worth it if you want to save money by cooking at home & eat delicious food all the time without really trying. This is an Easy Bake Oven for Adults lol. This is basically Sous...

If you're willing to cut through the camouflage that cooking is hard, this oven allows you to get right to the heart of it, i.e. perfectly cooking whatever meal, side, snack, or dessert you're going after. Like, I make an "egg loaf" in a 5" square pan using Sous-Vide Mode aka SVM (no bag & no water bath required!). This bakes out a perfectly-cooked omelet, which I then add to a grilled cheese sandwich to make the most ridiculously good breakfast sandwich I've ever had:



I can simply blend up some eggs, pour them into a casserole dish, and add some ingredients like frozen broccoli & ham cubes, cook it using SVM, then sprinkle some shredded cheese on top & switch to broiler mode:



Or perfectly cook up some SVM pork tenderloin, SVM mashed potatoes, and steamed green beans:



Or sous-vide up a burger, then fry it in a skillet to get a crust, then broil some cheese on top while warming up the buns:



The idea isn't being a master chef or working really hard to make food all the time - it's all about letting the machine provide the perfect core of your meal, whether it's a burger, eggs, etc. And because it's multi-function (sous-vide, airfry, dehydrate, bake, etc.) you can do multiple steps & save those as multi-stage recipes in the app! It's hard to convey how useful this machine really is, and why $600 is a steal, and why it's worth saving up for if you're like me & are on a budget. Huge huge huge impact on my monthly food budget, quality of food, and consistency in terms of delivering amazing breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks. It's kind of like owning that oven from BTTF 2 - it magically cooks stuff for you!

Not all restaurants have dedicated delivery staff on their payroll. Unless you plan to pickup your order, ordering through these services may be their only options if you want your food delivered.

A lot of restaurant owners I know have a love/hate relationship with delivery services. Prices, especially during COVID season, have had to get jacked up to compensate for the financial loss. Most people don't realize just how thin the margins are that nearly all restaurants operate on...my buddy's sushi restaurant makes all of their money from drinks (sodas, teas, coffees, alcohol) & virtually nothing from the actual food. Plus with COVID, a lot of ingredient-delivery companies have switched from NET30 to COD, which is really tough when you're already scraping by. My other buddy owns a really popular small local chain & had to lay off nearly 30 employees at the beginning of the coronavirus because they got hit so hard. Same deal with Yelp...a lot of restaurant owners view Yelp as basically the mafia, as they can be the yay/nay dealbreaker for whether someone gets food from a particular restaurant or not, and they try to strongarm you into various fees. Really rotten!

Some people really need this money. I'm happy for all the people who got the first stimulus checks and this check as well. While you make fun of this check amount, at least you were lucky to receive it. How you use this money is up to you.

I know people who YOLO the first round of the stimulus checks in the stock market and turned that $1,200 check into five and six figure amount. The first round of stimulus payment went out when the stock market was down big. If you had used your $1,200 check to buy Tesla leap call options, that $1,200 would be worth ~$250,000.

This guy turned $463 into $1 million by simply buying TSLA call options and holding for 18 months.

I get it that people are hurting, desperate, waiting hours and hours in food lines, etc..

But $600 is a fucking joke, a fucking insult, but a clear warning that our fucking politicians, especially republicans and the likes of the asshole Moscow Mitch have nothing but contempt for the people of this country. His own constituents should be boiling the tar to tar and feather him. There are over 3100 counties in the US, and 10 of the top 25 poorest counties are in the state this douche bag represents, and to give people $2k is fucking socialism... according to Moscow Mitch.

TSLA is not the only stock. Almost everything was down in the dumpster when things crashed because of the corona panic. And that's when the first round of the stimulus checks went out. PENN dropped below $4. It closed yesterday at $86. That's over 20x from the low.

The point is you could've thrown a dart and bought pretty much any stock and made money. So I have zero sympathy if you received a check and crying the check is too small. There are many of us who didn't get a check and won't be getting one.
