The $ was deposited into my checking account yesterday (Wednesday), promptly and on time. I was surprise how fast it was.

Got my check in the mail today. I still don't understand why they mailed it instead of DD'ing it like they do our SS...but fuck it...I'll still take it.

I stopped and looked at a 2020 F-150 Lariat today. Pretty truck...$59,250 MSRP.
My first brand-new truck was 1976 Dodge Power Wagon with a 440 cu/in engine. $7500 out the door.

The governor FINALLY opened auto sales to the general public this past week. The truck that was #1 on my list sold before sales opened...(fucking essential workers) :p But I did end up getting a damned nice 2019 F-150 Lariat...fully loaded. Cost a bit more than the one I mentioned above...but it's hella purty.

It was weird driving the other day...all of the car lots were totally empty.

That, and all of our overhead emergency-warning highways signs say "Please don't speed" lol

Just check and all of my relatives and friends (without direct deposits) would get checks to be sent out by 5/15.

If you want your check by DD, the deadline to update your information with the IRS is 5/13.

Got the Attack from Mars translite installed and it looks freaking sweet. It's so nice I might actually go ahead and buy the more-expensive limited edition acrylic "backglass"; I'll put the translite in a lighted frame and hang it up in my office. I'll also have to frame and light the original translite. Both hanging next to each other would probably look cool.

Seeing this game with that style artwork would be pretty great.

Second stimulus check plan just got approved: (edit: at the House, not Senate)

Same deal as last time:
Provides additional direct payments, cushioning the economic blow of the coronavirus crisis with a second round of more substantial economic impact payments of $1,200 per family member, up to $6,000 per household

That bill is not going to pass the Senate. They threw everything in there including the kitchen sink. They'll probably pass something since this is an election year and Trump wants to get reelected but that's too generous for Republicans to approve.

Me either. Living in Taxland/Maryland it is just continue to pay high taxes at the state and local level, along with federal.

Something I just thought about is renting a cheap apartment in an state with no income taxes (New Hampshire), but owning a home and working in Massachusetts. You could probably claim residency in NH, have lower real-estate taxes, and pay no income tax. Bonus points if NH has a renter's tax credit, like MA does.

TBH I'm waiting for the virus spores on my check envelope to die before I open it.

Too generous? Anyone with half a brain understands that they just threw random shit in as if they are bargaining like a used-car salesman or something.

They also MADE ABSOLUTE SURE that Trump cannot put his name on the check or the letter that goes out to people in their bill lol. Oh man, you showed him good! That will make a very big difference...

So trump's name on the check was important to you, why?

I spent my coronabucks on a shiny new Macbook Pro about two weeks before the direct deposit even arrived from the IRS.

While I needed a new laptop to replace my 6 year old clunker with a bad battery, it probably wasn't the best place to spend that money. Apple has something insane like 200 billion dollars in cash reserves, so they don't need economic stimulus money right now.

I would have been better off spending that cash at local restaurants instead. Maybe I'll do that with the next round of government handouts, assuming that those restaurants are reopened by then.
