I know they are AMD's new mobile 64 bit processors, but how good are they? Are they high-end or are they like mobile semprons with 64 bit support? Someone please explain.

they are supposed to be AMD's mobile proc to combat the Dothan (< not the troll :p) .. but i have not seen any laptops for retail with it yet

EDIT: it is a Athlon 64 with lower voltage, less amount of watts consumed

The buzz about them seemed to die out quickly, so my guess is they dont overclock as well as current desktop chips.

I've heard they overclock fairly well, though they're not made to clock high.

They're fairly interesting though, in that Turion notebooks are often far cheaper than comparable Sonoma systems. They're priced about equal with the Celeron Ms apparently.

Pls check if its a ML (35W TDP) or MT (25W). Its still a mystery to me if the Turion MT models actually do need slightly more power than the P-m or if it depends more on the chipsets power consumption, maybe u can test its battery life.

basically Turions are low voltage Socket 754 Cpus mixed with some of the latest A64 features and an additional cool`n`quiet mode, SSE3 extensions. It can use 400Mhz DDR memory and shows some nice overclocking results on desktop boards. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=61428
Regarding its performance it keeps up well with the Pentium-m and both are only some percent slower than desktop A64 Cpu`s. Alot of ppl actually do favor the pentium-m becuz of its good performance in games, its stable and experienced chipset and a low power consumption but regarding that u can buy a 1,6GHz Turion MT30 with 64bit support for the upcoming operating systems for about 200$ its not a bad deal. Since only a few ppl swapped to Windows XP 64 bit version and the Turion is head to head with the P-m performancewise, the Turion is not a Killer CPU but as i said it still a good deal. But iam a lil biased i tend to be a AMD fanboy cuz they got good products for good prices and i think its the same with the Turion.

Mobile Semprons have either 128 or 256 KB of L2 cache, Turion 64 has a full 1 MB. Is that what you mean?
