What are those processes running in the back of XP and are they hurting ur performance?

If u have WinXP, you know how if u press ctrl+alt+del, you get that menu?
Well, if you click on the processes tab, there are all these things running.

Which ones can I get rid of, and why, and are they hurting my performance?

look... if you have a 1.5+ GHz CPU and 512MB+ of ram (and I think you do.. looking from yur system spec ) those proccesses won't matter!
unless if you try to achieve 100-200 more points in 3dmark or other benchmarks.

the heaviest proccess is explorer.exe, change it to taskmgr.exe from yur registry
