What are those little black bugs that get inside?

Is this strictly a northeast US thing? They look like small black winged beetle things like 2/8".

I think 2/8" is quite a bit larger than a fruitfly. They are a little bit smaller than a ladybug.
 
As you can tell, my English SAT scores were significantly higher than my Math scores.😛

(Yes, I got bonus points for spelling my name correctly).
 
Did I pass? Yes. Did I pay attention? Not really. NYC public school system. If you can read, you get handed a diploma. Yeah, I'm not good with fractions, better with decimals, always have been. I can't seem to see numbers in that way- a serious head trauma will do that to you.
