Worry naught... it simply removes that magnetic strip... if you had the right magnet you could wark right ot of there and set nothing off
 
Oh, thanks everyone who helped. So places like EB or anywhere who have those things when you leave the store that ring will have a demagnetizer at the cashier? Then what of those who buy DVD's or VHS Anime's from EB, what do they do about that? Does the media get deleted?

No no no, you're DVD's are fine, it's your CEREAL you need to worry about. Just don't keep it near the fridge and the magnets on there shouldn't bother it.

baltazar, I didn't realize that I insulted you, didn't know you were target worker. Nothing stupid about asking what something is, that's how someone becomes knowledgable.
