What are they going to do, kill more civilians and attempt to disrupt peace talks?

You could say the same about the Israelis.

BTW: IMHO this conflict is a classic battle over territory. Religion is ancilliary, other than the fact that the very reason the Jews returned was due to religion.

Israeli beat them to the punch. Abbas = undermined.

"One of Rantissi's bodyguards was killed as well as a 50-year-old woman, medical sources said, while an eight-year-old (Eds: correct) girl was critically wounded in the head and kept alive artificially."

"Israeli helicopters and tanks responded by launching missiles and shells at the area between Beit Hanoun and Jabalya, where the militants who launched the rockets apparently were hiding. Three Palestinians ? two 19-year-old men and a 16-year-old girl ? were killed."

Hamas murdered FIVE Israeli soldiers on Sunday ... so who beat who :p ;)

And Israel murdered at least six Palestinian Civillians today. Which is better?? Is it better to attack a hardened military base with the express purpose of killing armed soldiers, or to kill women and children going about thier business as "collateral damage".

True but when will it stop ? Abbas was working towards getting Hamas to chill out and now that is all over and done with. Hamas will not listen anymore and Abbas now looks to be a fool for ever trusting Israel in eyes of the people. Instead of looking out for the long run Israel has decided to shoot it's load now and say the hell with the future.

There was collateral damage in the Palestinians attack too..

ANYHOW.. neither one is right and both sides need to stop immediately or this will go on forever..

Neither side is any better than the other.

goes for both sides, but its far more serious what the Israel did because Israel does have 100% control over their army while the Palestinian authority has very little control over terrorists.

Nothing good could have come from those attacks today so its very hard to see anything else from this than an act to sabotage the peace process.

Didn't Hamas already say FU to any peace treaties?

Too bad they didn't kill that prick.

The attack by the three militant groups took place at Erez, the main border crossing between Israel and Gaza. Three gunmen -- one each from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade -- penetrated an Israeli army outpost at 5:15 a.m., killing the four Israeli soldiers and wounding four more. The gunmen, dressed in Israeli army uniforms, were killed by Israeli troops.

The militant groups issued statements claiming joint responsibility, quickly underscoring the political significance of the cooperation required to carry out the attacks.

"Of course the message is clear: All factions are working together to keep up resistance to the occupation," Dr. Abdel Aziz Rantisi, a Hamas leader, said yesterday. "We refuse totally the Aqaba summit. It is a waste of our existence."

The US created a monster in the middle east. Now we've invaded Iraq and become the monster. Bush only came up with his "peace" plan after we had our foothold in Iraq. Israel better watch out. We don't need them as our outpost in the middle east anymore and they sure as hell, as we've learned since the WMD story broke, can't trust Bush.

They walked out of talks a day before but at the last minute about 2 hours before the attack they decided to go back to the table. Of course now that is all but over with and done.

Yes because if they did kill him no one in Hamas would of step foward to replace him and call for revenge.
