Just what it sounds like. They let you keep the car for a full day instead of just driving it around the block. It's not a new thing; when my mom bought a car several years ago they let her keep it overnight beforehand as we were friends with the dealer. They've apparantly just made it more official lately.

You also if i heard correctly before, have to give them a car to keep in exchange while you test theirs.

I think you should go into a Ford dealer with a friend's 10 year old Mazda RX-7 TT and asked where the Cobra's are and if you can take it for the weekend.

so is there a mileage limit?
a lot of paper work?

i don't plan on doing it... just wanna know the details on how they could allow such a thing to happen, kinda like if you just wanna take the Cobra for a test drive.

My friend's dad did this just recently. In fact they gave him the keys and told him to use the car for the weekend and come back in on Monday and see how it felt. Needless to say, he ended up buying a car from the dealer again. He had bought many cars from this dealer, so that probably helped in the dealership's decision to lend him the car.

freaking thing reads like a contract between a father & son...

I will not take the Vehicle more than 100 miles from the dealership location.

I understand that I must leave my motor vehicle in the possession, custody, and control of the Dealership while I have possession of the Dealership?s Vehicle, and that the Dealership agrees to be fully responsible for any damage or loss to my vehicle while it is in the possession of the Dealership. I understand that my motor vehicle will be returned to me when I return the Vehicle to the Dealership.

nissan dealer in north austin told me that i could take one of their used maximas for a day to check it out, take it to a mechanic, whatever.

if i'd have known that my roommate's mechanic did nissans i'd probably be driving a max right now :(
