I am at work...and I have been getting the hour glass constantly like something is taking up resources. I go to task manager and there are these three exe's bouncing all over. I googled them and have had mixed results...with finding out what the heck the are.

I have found them on other network computers around where I work so I don't know if they are supposed to be there or not or if there is something going on ?

I can't kill either of the WToolsS.exe or WToolsA.exe...I think it might be because of the level of security they have on the computers....I can however kill WSup.exe and the hourglass goes away and things seem to go back to normal.

I have ran adware and spybot...both clean...

I can't reboot and go into safe mode....and I can't get to the run command...since it has been blocked by IS

if anyone has any info I would appreciate you input

Thanks in advance

thanks for the reply, I took a look at the two links, and they are basically the same thing I have going on here at work, although not as bad...I was more concerned that it was a virus or spyware...I don't have access to any menu functions on this rig...I can't even view the C: drive...they have these computers locked up tighter than a drum.

I can live with it and calling the IS department here is just a wonderful expereince all in its self...I guess I will just monitor the situation for now...if it gets worse I will have to call I guess

thanks

AHHHH I have this crap, I followed the directions about disabling it in services etc and it still WILL not go away...

HELP ME PLEASE

This seems to be more common. Some people at work installed this but when they uninstalled it their system would no longer boot.

On some systems there is an uninstall option in the add remove programs. If you can follow it's deceptive prompts for removal, it will remove itself. If not, how I remove it is to boot into safe mode and do a search in the registry for the word(?) wtool. I then delete any that are referencing wtools. Also look at the locations of where it says the file it is running is located, and delete it. I then search the hard drive for the same wtool, and delete the files and folders for wtools.

Both Ad Aware and Spy Bot Search and Destroy can remove the bulk of the files from this.
