what are these and how to get rid of them in Windows?

when i right click in a folder, i see a bunch of icons as seen in red in this picture:

the only thing i ever used is new folder and new text file. so how do i get rid of the rest?
(im using win7 if it makes a difference. although i wanna do the same thing in my win8 machines too)

strangely, none of the ones i installed worked. they opened but i dont see any of the shortcuts i want to delete. also, i went to the registry and i dont even see the shortcuts myself. weird...
