Sorry for the lack of text, I'm a lil intoxicated.

Anyway, my brother needs an alarm system for his STi and I need recommendations.
 
I'll throw a few out there:

Viper
DEI
Clifford
Alpine

An alarm is an alarm, it all depends on how it is installed and what extra features you want it to support

in that 007 movie, he has a car with a "Special" car alarm

when a bad guy throws a brick through the window, the car explodes (killing the bad guy of course)


it had a window sticker saying something like "car protected by alarm system, you REALLY don't want to steal this car" (i forget exacty it was over 20 years ago)
 
If you are looking for something good, you'd want to have a backup battery, proximity sensor, glass break sensor, shock sensor. You'd want it rigged up to your hood, truck and all doors. Also you might want a pager to page you when the alarm goes off

Really nice when it goes off for several minutes at 4 AM just because some car with a bad muffler idled by.

Just FYI. I used to install car alarms and can tell you that the Viper brand is made by DEI. They also make many others like the snakes and flying insects (python, wasp, hornet, etc) not to mention the Automate brand which is what a car dealership will usually install for you.

It depends on what you want/need. How important is it.

I remember seeing that somewhere there was a car which instead of sounding a siren shot flames from underneath...now that would be cool 🙂
